And could not be seen, nor could be touched. Then the evil demon wept bitterly, and by the power of the Buddha, his body trembled like trees. With a tearful face, he looked in all directions and said: 'For the sake of gathering all beings, the ascetic has performed this illusion today. Like this, I have become instantly intoxicated here like a fool. Having lost my land and my own power, my life is also exhausted. Before I am driven away and destroyed by him, I will quickly go to my abode.' If I want to go to my abode, I cannot go there either. Trembling and weeping, he thought: 'My power of magical abilities is exhausted, and I will come under the control of this ascetic Gautama.' 'In front of this enemy, my life will be exhausted,' so he made himself invisible. Thinking: 'In any case, in order that not a single sentient being living in the Buddha-field sees me at the time of my death, I will die on the other side of the Buddha-field of Saha.' However, even if he wanted to become invisible, or flee in all directions, he could not do it. I saw my neck bound by five bonds, and being very angry and afraid, weeping loudly, he said: 'Alas! My children and dear friends, I will not see you again.' Then the demon named Delightful Sound, transformed into the attire of a universal monarch, and said to the evil demon: 'Why are you weeping sadly today, uttering great cries of lamentation? Do not be afraid, quickly take refuge in the lord of all beings, the supreme protector. He is the protector, refuge, and friend of all beings in the world, who eliminates the three sufferings. By revering and serving him, one will surely obtain peace, happiness, and well-being.' Then the evil demon thought: 'I will use my sweet words to have the ascetic Gautama protect me, so that I may be freed from this bondage.' Then, the evil demon, in the direction where the Blessed One was residing, bowed with folded hands and said: 'I prostrate to the supreme person who has completely liberated himself from birth, old age, sickness, and death! 逝世者普照，为了守护教法仪轨，请一切智者不要舍弃平等心。世尊开示说：如此我亲自前往那里，降伏了具有乘骑军队的魔，众多人等一切也，将前往寂灭之城。之后，那些魔全部都异口同声地祈请说：世尊请不要离去！诸佛世尊的佛土不可思议，魔的国土不可思议，龙的国土不可思议，业的诸业之国土不可思议。世尊不是这样开示的吗？一切国土之中，佛土是特别超胜的顶峰。世尊您安住于此座上，就已使亿万魔众彻底失败，并已开示亿万法蕴，枯竭烦恼之海，撕裂见网，引领亿万众生进入智慧之海。然而，世尊您如今却要离去，这不合时宜啊！世尊开示说：众生界中，有多少众生，他们全都变成了魔。那些魔，每一个魔的力量和加持，都变得如微尘之微尘那么多。即使他们全部都准备杀我，也不能损害我一根毫毛。我住在这里，就能彻底击败和调伏亿万魔众，除了这个魔及其眷属之外。而且，为了让我接受供养，这些魔用魔的力量、神通和变化所产生的加持，装饰了整个王舍城。为了怜悯他们，我将前去享用。之后，那些魔会非常高兴并生起信心，从而在无上正等觉中生起善的种子。您打算何时从座位上起身呢？之后，守护光明园林的天女，名叫具力美者，在世尊面前，泪流满面

The departed one sees all, in order to protect the rituals of the teachings, may the all-knowing one not abandon equanimity. The Blessed One said: Thus, I myself will go there, and subdue the maras with their riding armies, and all the many beings will go to the city of Nirvana. Then, all those maras, with one voice, entreated thus: Blessed One, please do not depart! The Buddha-fields of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are inconceivable. The realms of the maras are inconceivable. The realms of the nagas are inconceivable. The realms of the karmas of actions are inconceivable. Did not the Blessed One say so? Among all realms, the Buddha-field is the most excellent and supreme. While the Blessed One is seated on this seat, he has utterly defeated billions of maras, and has taught billions of collections of dharma, dried up the ocean of afflictions, torn the net of views, and led billions of beings into the ocean of wisdom. However, it is not fitting for the Blessed One to depart at this time! The Blessed One said: In the realm of sentient beings, as many sentient beings as there are, all of them have become maras. The power and blessing of each of those maras has become as numerous as the dust particles of the finest dust. Even if all of them were to prepare to kill me, they could not harm even a single pore of my skin. While I am staying here, I am able to utterly defeat and tame billions of maras, except for this mara and his retinue. Moreover, in order to make offerings to me, these maras have adorned the entire great city of Rajagriha with the power of maras, magical powers, and the blessings of transformation. Out of compassion for them, I will go and enjoy it. Then, those maras will be very happy and generate faith, and thus will generate the seeds of virtue in unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. When do you intend to rise from your seat? Then, the goddess who guards the grove of light, named Endowed with Power and Beauty, with tears in her face, before the Blessed One
