Having arrived here, dwelling in the sky directly above the land of Anga Magadha, in this Jambudvipa world, all the gods and nagas, yakshas and gandharvas, asuras and garudas, kinnaras and mahoragas, pretas and rakshasas, and kumbhandas, all those who have not generated faith in the Bhagavan, who are not respectful, who do not remember to do these things in their hearts, and those who have no faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, all of them were caused to be killed by the Evil One Mara. They were also equipped with various weapons and armor, and were dwelling there. The Evil One Mara transformed himself into the form of the Great Ishvara, and came before the sage named Delight in Stars, who believed in the Great Ishvara, who had gone beyond the eighteen fields of knowledge, who had reached the other shore of the realm of magical powers, who had five hundred attendants, and who dwelt on the face of the snow mountain. Sitting before him, he spoke these words: "O best of sages, born from the Gautama lineage, dwelling in wisdom and direct perception! Today he dwells in Anga Magadha, and will surely beg for alms in Rajagriha. With firm and various clear words, try to speak with him together. There, you will also effortlessly obtain the five kinds of direct perception." Then, the Evil One Mara spoke this verse, and immediately disappeared, returning to his own abode, and admonishing his own retinue of maras: "Listen to me, what I have thought today with unparalleled wisdom. Without showing the illusion that destroys the great pride of the realm of Mara, speak freely to the son of the Shakya who possesses magical powers. He is always gentle in speech, loving his disciples like a loving mother. His disciples, having abandoned rich food, effortlessly wander gradually in the cities in the early morning without distraction. Let them be quickly seized in a manner of beautiful song and dance. Hearing this, the leaders of the Shakya clan will surely be displeased." Another mara said: "Elephants, cows, lions, buffaloes, fierce tigers, making loud noises like the thunder of summer, many such sounds are quickly transformed outside the city. We will be holding weapons and waiting there, it will be truly amazing!"

From the sky comes the sound of weapons, and lightning strikes from the clouds. Then, the earth shakes, and uncontrollably, due to fear, they quickly become fierce. Those demons, with the power and manifestations of the demon realm, made everything vast. The Blessed One also blessed this three-thousand great thousand world realm, complete with all qualities, into a vajra, and even the sound of demons could not be produced. In the four directions, there is neither fire nor mountains. There are also no black clouds. There is also no untimely wind. Then, due to the power and blessing of the Buddha, no dragons, not even a single drop of rain, fall. At that time, four great Shravakas, in the morning, put on their Dharma robes and skirts. Carrying their bowls, they entered the great city of Rajagriha for alms. Then, the venerable Shariputra entered the great city of Rajagriha for alms from the southern gate of the city. At that gate of the city, there were fifty very young, handsome, demon youths dressed like monks, singing, dancing, and wandering everywhere. They grabbed the venerable Shariputra with both hands and ran through the streets, singing and dancing. They said to Shariputra: Ascetic, sing a song! Ascetic, dance! Shariputra said: Friends, listen to a song that you have never heard before! All those demon youths became silent. The venerable Shariputra ran and sang in this way: The sense bases are enough! The sense bases have deceived us! The sense bases are killers! The sense bases drive us out! The aggregates are enough! The aggregates have deceived us! The aggregates are killers! The aggregates drive me out! Like this: Bahara, Bahara, Bharabaha, Maritse.
