What was the reason for that? It was because those monks could not bear to see the Blessed One pass into complete nirvana. The savior, Shakya Lion, Like clouds covering the great earth, Satisfying hundreds of millions of creatures, And removing the suffering of sentient beings. Then those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, said to the venerable Ananda and the venerable Rahula, kneeling on their right knees and asking in verses: By the power of the Buddhas' glory, Those with eyes can see in kalpas, The guides can dwell in kalpas, Pray to all the great heroes. The perfect Buddha, the best of the two-legged, If dwelling in the realm of great wisdom, For many billions of sentient beings, It will turn into inconceivable meaning. The assembly of gods will increase, The Asuras will also decrease, The Shravakas and Bodhisattvas are also like that, Inconceivably increasing. The nature of all compounded things is like this, the end is like this, the way is like this. Because things born from compounding have no eternal nature. The end is like this, therefore the Tathagata, the nature of Dharma, has abandoned all compounded things, so he does not rule, nor has he ever thought of ruling. Sons of the lineage, you will come to our Buddha land, or the Tathagata will extend his hand and illuminate with light, and you will come by that light. Even if you stay here, the Tathagata will show a close face, and will also reveal the teaching of the excellent Dharma, so do not grieve! Then That
