Because of faith and understanding in the Perfection of Wisdom, he continuously acted for one hundred forty-eight million years, without weapons, not seeking to harm all sentient beings, and became a Dharma king. That was not for the sake of desire, nor for the sake of coveting the kingdom, but for the benefit of all sentient beings, to liberate them completely, to tame them, to be tamed, and for the sake of taming and being tamed, he became a king. He spent one hundred forty-eight million years placing one hundred forty-eight million beings in enlightenment and placing them in the state of non-retrogression. All those sons of good family who possess the qualities of a Bodhisattva and who have generated the initial mind are placed in the state of non-retrogression from the certainty of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. At another time, he shaved his hair and beard, put on red robes, and went forth from home to homelessness, perfectly and completely. Having thus gone forth, he practiced celibacy for eighty-one million years, and while practicing, he only sat and did not even lie down on a bed. What need is there to mention drowsiness and sleep? In the past, for eighty-one million years, he never generated thoughts of desire, or thoughts of malice, or thoughts of harm. During that time, there was never a perception of suffering, or a perception of unpleasantness, or a perception of a temple, or a perception of non-temple, and he did not generate any other unwholesome thoughts, but remained in two dharmas. What are the two dharmas? They are the manifestation of the fleshly eye in a way that there is no eye to be directly realized, and the subsequent realization of the suchness of the aggregates of the Dharma in a way that there is no attachment to it. Furthermore, for eighty-one million years, there was never a perception of earth, or a perception of water, or a perception of fire, or a perception of wind, or a perception of space, or a perception of consciousness, or a perception of woman, or a perception of man, or a perception of hunger, or a perception of thirst, or a perception of village, or a perception of monastery, or a perception of city.

Or knowing, or knowing in towns, or knowing in disharmony, or knowing in the absence of disharmony, or knowing in solitude, or knowing in meditation, or knowing in self, or knowing in other, or knowing in form, or knowing in formlessness, or knowing in the periphery, or knowing in the center, or knowing in arising, or knowing in cessation, or knowing in smallness, or knowing in multitude, other knowings also do not arise. Except for the Dharma categories of the Bodhisattva's treasury, those knowings associated with conceptualization and other knowings also do not arise at all. During that time, that Bodhisattva completely matured eighty quadrillion nayutas of beings into unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and all those beings, by generating the first mind, were certain to achieve unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. All those beings, in order to behold, pay homage, and make offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, residing in other Buddha-fields, before this instant had passed, leaped away from that world and Buddha-field, not coexisting with both. All those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, residing in all those Buddha-fields, are all like the Tathagata I am now, named Shakyamuni, with completely identical names, and all appeared in the world with the five degenerations. All those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also in this instant, moment, and instant, are heading towards the great Nirvana, and lie down on the lion throne with their right side of their body touching the ground. All those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will also completely pass into Nirvana between the pair of Sala trees in the last moment of dawn, near the strong men. Ananda, I, with unobstructed physical eyes, fully know all those things that all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas cannot comprehend, which are not their realm, and which cannot be measured, and other immeasurable things. Ananda, a Bhikshu, or a Bhikshuni, or an Upasaka.
