It does not abide on the edge, but descends into great compassion, and though it revolves, its characteristics do not change. Characteristics are not attached to immovability, and even the empty mind of perfect Bodhi is not attained. The mind is limitless and boundless, yet its location is unseen; this is the going forth of the Tathagata. O virtuous man, the first of the five aggregates is one feeling, entering from the merit of the mother, and the teaching of sentient beings arises from the state of the mother. Shariputra asked: What is called the state of the mother? The Buddha said: If there is no state of the mother from the mother, then one enters into bliss from the realm of the mother without a state, and if one practices Bodhi, then what path of miracles will be accomplished? For example, a virtuous man grasping emptiness with his hand is like not attaining, yet there is also nothing that is not pervaded. Shariputra asked: As the venerable one has said, before the meaning, practice the forbearance of the mother, which is taking, emptiness, peace, and thought. Emptiness and peace are immovability, and if one can gather and hold the sutras of all good sayings, then all dharmas will be gathered and perfected into Bodhi, without duality or difference, and inconceivable. Know that this dharma is the perfection of great wisdom. It is the mantra of the great god. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) It is the mantra of great light. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) It is the unsurpassed mantra. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) It is the unequaled mantra. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) This is what the Buddha said. So it is. With the emptiness of true immovability, the fire of emptiness wisdom burns away all knots, from nothing to equality. The equality of equality, the three feelings, and the three bodies of the holy feeling, appear within the nine consciousnesses, pure and without defilement, without shadows. O virtuous man, this dharma has neither cause nor condition, but is the self-nature of wisdom. There is neither movement nor immovability, but the emptiness of the self-nature of action. In the scripture, there is neither existence nor non-existence. The characteristic of emptiness is also emptiness. O virtuous man, cause those sentient beings to realize and enter into this scripture. If one enters into this scripture, it is the vision of the Tathagata. Shariputra asked: If one examines the scripture of the Tathagata, then one is attached to the states into which one falls, separated from the four dhyanas, and transcends the common existence.

This is the meaning of extensive explanation. How to understand it? The names and aspects of all dharmas, the four dhyanas are also the same. Seeing the Tathagata, with the Tathagata's free mind, constantly abiding in tranquility. Neither arising nor entering, inner and outer are equal. Good man, if you examine with these dhyanas, you can overcome all thoughts, because there is no movement, so there is no each other. Why? Because of immovability. Practicing immovability, observing the truth of immovability, because the mark of immovability is not seen, all marks are empty and tranquil. Emptiness and tranquility are the truth of immovability. Such a thought can overcome dhyana, but it is not dhyana itself. Why? Because the nature of dhyana is far from the various aspects of movement, there is no covering, no admonition, no dharma, no decrease, because it is far from all kinds of discrimination, so it follows the fundamental truth. Good man, if you understand and overcome in this way, it is truly called dhyana. Shariputra asked: Inconceivable! The Tathagata constantly practices the truth of immovability, teaching sentient beings, such a true principle, although there are many words, the meaning is profound, only sentient beings with sharp roots can practice, sentient beings with dull roots are difficult to accept. What method can be used to make sentient beings with dull roots also understand the truth? The Buddha said: If sentient beings with dull roots can accept and recite these four lines of verse, they can understand the true truth, because all the Buddha's teachings are contained in this one verse. Shariputra asked: How is it called the four-line verse? Then, the venerable one proclaimed the verse: The dharma arising from causes and conditions, this dharma is neither existent nor non-existent, nor is it born. Birth and death are all without self-nature, therefore this dharma is neither born nor dies. Afterwards, the masses heard the proclamation of the verse, and they were all very happy. Hearing the dharma of no birth and no death, they gave rise to the wisdom of emptiness of nature with wisdom. The letters of the Dharma of Vajra Samadhi have seven chapters.
