世间界之有情中，除了真实进入大乘者以外，所有那些之中，转轮王以福德和智慧最为殊胜。 善男子，四大洲世间界中有情有多少，那些全部都具有转轮王的福德聚，每一个有情都具有如同转轮王的福德，善男子，你认为如何？那福德聚多吗？ 菩萨善男子禀告道： 世尊，一个转轮王的福德聚也已经很多了，更何况是无数的有情呢？ 世尊开示道： 善男子，如果三千大千世界世间界中有多少有情，将那些有情全部聚集起来，那些每一个都具有转轮王的福德聚，或者说三千大千世界世间界的有情都具有转轮王的福德聚，更不用说了。 善男子，如果世间界如同恒河沙数般的有情，那些全部都具有转轮王的福德聚，善男子，你认为如何？那些有情的福德聚多吗？ 菩萨善男子禀告道： 世尊，一个有情与转轮王相等所具有的福德聚也已经不可思议、无数了，更何况是无数的有情都成为转轮王，那些福德聚更不用说了。 世尊开示道： 善男子，你应该信受，应该理解。因此，最初发心的菩萨所拥有的福德聚非常多，非常不可思议。转轮王的福德聚连那福德聚的百分之一都比不上，千分之一，百万分之一，千万分之一。

Among sentient beings in the world realm, apart from those who have truly entered the Great Vehicle, the Chakravartin is the most supreme in terms of merit and wisdom. O son of Good Conduct, if all the sentient beings in the four continents world realm were to possess the accumulation of merit of a Chakravartin, and each sentient being possessed the same merit as a Chakravartin king, what do you think, O son of Good Conduct? Would that accumulation of merit be great? The Bodhisattva, son of Good Conduct, replied: O Bhagavan, even the accumulation of merit of one Chakravartin is already great, what need is there to mention the countless sentient beings? The Bhagavan said: O son of Good Conduct, if all the sentient beings in the three-thousand great-thousand world realm were gathered together, and each of them possessed the accumulation of merit of a Chakravartin, or even if all the sentient beings in the three-thousand great-thousand world realm possessed the accumulation of merit of a Chakravartin, what need is there to mention it? O son of Good Conduct, if all the sentient beings in world realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges possessed the accumulation of merit of a Chakravartin, what do you think, O son of Good Conduct? Would the accumulation of merit of those sentient beings be great? The Bodhisattva, son of Good Conduct, replied: O Bhagavan, even the accumulation of merit of one sentient being equal to a Chakravartin is immeasurable and countless, what need is there to mention the accumulation of merit of countless sentient beings who have become Chakravartin kings? The Bhagavan said: O son of Good Conduct, you should have faith and understand. Therefore, the accumulation of merit possessed by a Bodhisattva who has generated the first thought is exceedingly vast and immeasurably great. The accumulation of merit of a Chakravartin cannot even compare to one-hundredth of that accumulation of merit, nor one-thousandth, nor one-millionth, nor one-ten millionth.

Son of No Craving, what do you think? If someone were to fill a thousandfold world with the seven precious things and give them as alms, which is greater, the accumulation of merit arising from that almsgiving or the accumulation of merit possessed by the love of Brahma? The Bodhisattva Son of No Craving replied: Blessed One, the accumulation of merit of Brahma is indeed much greater; that arising from almsgiving is not so. Son of No Craving, let alone the accumulation of merit of Brahma, the lord of a thousand, Son of No Craving, what do you think? Brahma, the lord of two thousand, pervades the two-thousandfold world with love. The accumulation of merit arising from... cannot even compare to one hundredth part of the accumulation of merit possessed by the loving kindness of the Great Brahma, and cannot even be endured up to the cause. The Blessed One said: Maitreya's son, let alone the accumulation of merit possessed by the loving kindness of the Great Brahma in the three thousand great thousand world realms. Maitreya's son, if all the beings in the three thousand great thousand world realms were gathered together, and all those beings possessed the accumulation of merit possessed by the loving kindness of the Great Brahma, then the accumulation of merit of all those beings would not be as great as that of a Bodhisattva who has initially generated the mind, entered into a superior intention, and is diligent in completely liberating all beings, and who has cultivated great love and great compassion without deceit or deception. This accumulation of merit of the Bodhisattva is much greater than that. The accumulation of merit of Brahma cannot even compare to one hundredth part of the accumulation of merit of that Bodhisattva, and cannot even be endured up to the cause. Maitreya's son, therefore, the accumulation of merit of the Bodhisattvas, the great beings who have initially generated the mind, is immeasurable. Maitreya's son, in this way, whatever son or daughter of good family who generates the mind for unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, or will generate it, should understand that all those merits are completely gathered together.
