Thus, a Bodhisattva who acts is acting in the realm of a Bodhisattva's conduct. Maitreya's son, furthermore, a Bodhisattva also believes that the realm of sentient beings is immeasurable and that the realm of Dharma is immeasurable. He also does not act as if the realm of sentient beings is exhausted, nor does he act for the sake of depletion. Why is that? The realm of sentient beings and the realm of Dharma are non-dual, without division, because they are without characteristics. The realm of Dharma neither increases nor decreases, and the realm of sentient beings neither increases nor decreases. Whatever the characteristic of the realm of Dharma is, that is also the characteristic of the realm of sentient beings. Maitreya's son, furthermore, a Bodhisattva, knowing that all dharmas are without characteristics, does not act for the sake of exhausting the realm of Dharma and the realm of sentient beings, nor does he act for the sake of increasing them. Here, one should act in order to fully know the afflictions arising from improper consideration, arising from perversion, and abiding near through complete fabrication, but one does not act for the sake of destroying the harm of samsara, and destroying self, sentient beings, life, and individuals. Maitreya's son, a Bodhisattva who acts in this way is acting in the realm of a Bodhisattva's conduct. The fourth chapter is complete. When this teaching of the chapter on the conduct of Manjushri Kumara was expounded, sixteen sons of the gods who had entered the Great Vehicle attained forbearance of the unborn dharma. Then, the great clan, the great and spotless glorious one, in order to perform the act of offering to this Dharma category, and for the sake of fully grasping it, said, "Lord, whatever sentient beings have faith in this Dharma category, all their purposes will be accomplished," thus specially speaking, specially speaking. Then, the son of the gods, Free from Demons, said this to Manjushri Kumara: "Manjushri, how should I also act, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva act, in order to be confident in acting in the realm of a Bodhisattva's conduct?" Manjushri said: "Son of the gods, you

If you know that time has come, rejoice! The son of the gods said: Manjushri, what is the practice of all dharmas, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. What is the practice of all demons, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. What is the practice of all sentient beings, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. What is the practice of all learners and non-learners, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. What is the practice of all solitary Buddhas, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. What is the practice of all Buddhas, that is the practice of the Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva Mahasattva must learn everything. Then, the Bodhisattva Vimalakirti said to the son of the gods, free from demons, thus: Son of the gods, how should the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice this practice of all dharmas? The son of the gods said: Vimalakirti, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should learn the eighty-four thousand practices of sentient beings. What are the eighty-four thousand practices of sentient beings? Like this: twenty-one thousand of the practices of desire, twenty-one thousand of the practices of anger, twenty-one thousand of the practices of ignorance, and twenty-one thousand of the practices of equanimity. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should enter into the practice of all those sentient beings, he should practice the practice of desire, and also be free from desire. He should practice the practice of anger, and also be free from anger. He should practice the practice of ignorance, and also be free from ignorance. He should practice all faults, and also be free from all faults. The Bodhisattva practices all that is practiced, and is not stained by any practice, and in order to fully ripen all sentient beings, all practices also appear to be accomplished, that Bodhisattva is the practice of the Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva Vimalakirti said: Son of the gods, how can all demons

Whatever the conduct is, that is the conduct of a Bodhisattva. The son of the gods said: A Bodhisattva should observe the conduct of all demons from all the entrances of the mind, and should not be subject to the power of all demonic actions. Nor should one connect the continuity of demonic actions. One should also connect to enter into all conduct. One should also definitely point out one demon, and should not be subject to its power. One should also learn the maturation of demons, and should also be separated from demonic actions. Said: Son of the gods, how is it learning and not learning, and what is the conduct of all solitary Buddhas, that is the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Said: Son of good family, in this way, a Bodhisattva should connect all conduct with the faith in conduct that is without self-nature, conduct that is without maturation, conduct that is without abiding, conduct that is without change, and conduct that is without arising. Then, the son of the gods, Free from Demons, having spoken this teaching, said to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, my eloquence is only this much, please start from this explanation of conduct and expand your eloquence. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, said to that son of the gods: Son of the gods, the conduct of a Bodhisattva is completely beyond all realms. What is the reason for that? Because that conduct is not counted as the realm of the eye and form. Nor is it counted as the realm of ear and sound, nose and smell, tongue and taste, body and touch, mind and dharma. Son of the gods, through these categories, you should also understand that the noble beings are completely beyond all realms of conduct. Son of the gods, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva practices in a way that does not displease the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Tathagatas, then a Bodhisattva who practices in that way is practicing the practice of a Bodhisattva. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, how should a Bodhisattva practice in order to please the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Tathagatas? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, the Tathagata
