菩萨摩诃萨种姓之子善守护，菩萨摩诃萨家主船主善妙，菩萨摩诃萨自在施，菩萨摩诃萨水天等五百位菩萨，为了与他们一起善说，将五百匹布料供养于世尊之身。也为世尊散布珍宝。也祈请对世尊进行供养和享用。之后，世尊以佛法之语，令善守护等五百位菩萨摩诃萨心生欢喜，令其如实受持，如实赞叹，如实满足。他们以欢喜之心、无垢之心、柔和之心、可欲之心、清净之心、无染之心，在世尊面前合掌而坐。之后，菩萨摩诃萨善守护对世尊如是禀告：世尊，菩萨摩诃萨具足几种法，能获得此三摩地？如是禀告后，世尊对菩萨摩诃萨善守护如是说道：善守护，具足四法，菩萨摩诃萨便能获得此三摩地。何为四法？即不依赖其他外道的秘密语，不贪著欲妙，不被已修之功德和受用所胜伏，以及呵责有情众生的轮回之处。善守护，具足此四法，菩萨摩诃萨便能获得此三摩地。善守护，任何菩萨受持此三摩地，读诵，书写，忆持，通达，并为他人广为如实宣说，善守护，那位菩萨的功德，在此生便能获得五种。

Then, the Blessed One, with the words of Dharma, made the five hundred Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, including Good Guardian, rejoice, made them truly uphold, truly praised, and truly satisfied. They, with joyful minds, immaculate minds, gentle minds, desirable minds, pure minds, and undefiled minds, sat with palms joined before the Blessed One. Then, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Good Guardian said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, with how many Dharmas does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva become able to obtain this samadhi? After so asking, the Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Mahasattva Good Guardian: Good Guardian, possessing four Dharmas, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva will obtain this samadhi. What are the four? Namely, not relying on the secret words of other heretics, not being attached to the qualities of desire, not being overcome by the qualities and possessions of practice, and reviling the places of birth of sentient beings in existence. Good Guardian, possessing these four Dharmas, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva will obtain this samadhi. Good Guardian, whatever Bodhisattva holds this samadhi, recites it, writes it, remembers it, understands it, and also widely and truly shows it to others, Good Guardian, the merits of that Bodhisattva, in this very life, will obtain five kinds.

It should be known that there are five hundred kinds. What are the five hundred? Well-guarded, for example, a body that abides in loving-kindness will not be harmed by poison, will not be harmed by weapons, will not die by drowning, and will not be burned by fire. Just as kings who seek opportunities to find flaws cannot find them, so too, a Bodhisattva who holds this well-guarded Samadhi will not be harmed by poison, will not be harmed by weapons, will not die by water, and will not be burned by fire.
