Also, he obtains the courage of non-existence. He appears to be respectful, and the world with gods also respects him. He appears to be sleeping in the womb, but he is not stained by any of the impurities of the womb. He appears to be born, but he does not see any dharma arising or ceasing. He appears in the form of a child, but all his faculties are complete. He appears to be learning crafts, bodily postures, knowledge, mantra practices, herbs, medicine, writing, arithmetic, numbers, and calculations, but he understands and comprehends all crafts. He appears to be sick, but he is free from all diseases of affliction. He appears to be aging, but none of his faculties are deteriorating. He appears to be dying, but he is neither born, nor dies, nor transmigrates, nor arises. O Steadfast of Intellect, thus, a Bodhisattva abiding in this Samadhi of Heroic Progress is endowed with such diligent conduct. O Steadfast of Intellect, furthermore, a Bodhisattva abiding in this Samadhi of Heroic Progress also knows that all dharmas are naturally entered into equally, and also shows the distinction between meditative absorption and the practice of Samadhi. In order to lead beings whose minds are distracted into Samadhi, he also shows himself abiding in meditative absorption, and he does not see any dharma that is distracted in the realm of dharma. He remembers and abides in the equality with the realm of dharma, and all dharmas are also equal to it, and he does not waver from Samadhi and one-pointedness of mind. He also equally places himself, and he comes, goes, sits, stands, walks, and sleeps. He also shows all behaviors, and he is also uniquely entered into equally. He also appears to be speaking, but he does not abandon the dharma-nature of Samadhi. O Steadfast of Intellect, therefore, when a Bodhisattva, in order to benefit other beings and other individuals, goes and enters villages, cities, towns, regions, countries, and the surroundings of the king's palace, at that time he is also in a state of equal placement.

Also, when eating, he eats while remaining equally for the sake of compassion for other sentient beings and other individuals. Although he appears to be eating, that bodhisattva's body is solid, firm, essential, like a vajra, not hollow, and also indivisible. In the belly of that bodhisattva, there are no intestines or stomach, no excrement or urine, no mucus or saliva, no impure things, and no unpleasant odors. He does not eat, nor does he swallow, and there is no eating. Although he appears to be eating for the sake of compassion for sentient beings, there is no fault in all of this. Wise one, thus, a bodhisattva abiding in this samadhi of courageous conduct also appears to use all the possessions of individual ordinary people, but there is no use anywhere, nor is there superior use, nor is there complete use, because he has also turned away from all conduct. Wise one, that is the distinction of cultivating the definitive arising path of the perfection of meditation of a bodhisattva abiding in this samadhi of courageous conduct. Wise one, furthermore, a bodhisattva abiding in this samadhi of courageous conduct also appears to abide in a solitary place, but for him, just as a solitary place is, so is a town. He also appears to wear white clothes and abide in a household, but for him, just as a household is, so is renunciation. Wise one, a bodhisattva is neither defiled by the laws of a household nor does he have pride in the laws of renunciation. In order to fully ripen sentient beings, he also appears to have gone forth among all the wondrous ones, but he does not become a view of the wondrous ones anywhere. He also does not purely believe. He shows the color, form, and signs of all the wondrous ones, but he does not enter into them, nor does he indulge in them, nor does he tend toward them, nor does he fall into them. Wise one, it is like this: for example, a leader who leads a great caravan, he shows the path and also goes on that path, and then returns to lead the caravan.

Also liberate other beings. Wise one, just as a Bodhisattva abiding in the Samadhi of Heroic Progress also shows the path to immeasurable beings abiding in the path of what kind of vehicle. To beings abiding in the path of the Hearer Vehicle, he shows the path of the Hearer Vehicle. To beings abiding in the path of the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, he shows the path of the Solitary Buddha Vehicle. To beings abiding in the path of the Buddha Vehicle, he shows the path of the Great Vehicle. To those who are determined to renounce, he shows the path according to their respective needs, and then returns again, also liberating other beings. Therefore, that noble person should be called like a path-shower. Wise one, for example, a well-made boat is for the purpose of liberating immeasurable beings, going from this shore to that shore and liberating them. For the sake of liberating other beings, it comes again from that shore to this shore. Wise one, just as a Bodhisattva abiding in the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, seeing beings driven by the four rivers and abiding in the stream of Samsara, in order to liberate them from the stream of Samsara, shows Nirvana as those beings desire. The Bodhisattva abiding in the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, if he sees beings to be tamed by the Hearer Vehicle, in order to completely liberate them from suffering, he also enters Nirvana together with them, and again shows birth by generating the power of this very Samadhi of Heroic Progress. If he sees beings to be tamed by the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, in order to completely liberate them from suffering, he also enters Nirvana together with them, and again shows birth by generating the power of this very Samadhi of Heroic Progress. He also goes from Samsara to Nirvana, and in order to liberate other beings, he also appears again in Samsara. Those noble persons should be called like an echo. Wise one, for example, a magician in a gathering of many ordinary people
