At one time, the Blessed One was in Rājagṛha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar), on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great Saṅgha of thirty-two thousand monks, all of whom were endowed with supernormal knowledge and dwelt together. There were also seventy-two thousand Bodhisattvas together, all of whom had attained the wisdom of supernormal knowledge, possessed the Dharma of unfailing dhāraṇīs, possessed the Dharma of inexhaustible eloquence, were unshaken by dwelling firmly in samādhi, were skilled in understanding the practice of the eye of wisdom, had attained patience, had attained the Dharma of dhāraṇīs, had entered the profound Dharma, had completed countless billions of kalpas, possessed perfect aspirations, had vanquished the Māras and adversaries, had fully grasped and possessed the great array of Buddha-fields, had donned the armor of great loving-kindness, had fully grasped great compassion, were diligent in great effort, were skilled in understanding the exposition of the definitive meaning of all words, had completely purified their conduct, dwelt in the three doors of liberation, had attained wisdom unattached to the three times, had manifested from the three realms, had great faith in the Buddha and the Dharma, turned the wheel of Dharma, had unobstructed sound, made themselves understood with pleasing sound, all their conduct was not entirely speculative, were free from entanglement, were adorned with excellent marks, had donned the armor of not abandoning all sentient beings, and were fully endowed with mindfulness, intelligence, and understanding, and were fully endowed with shame and steadfastness. For example, Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas turn the wheel of Dharma without obstruction, Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas turn the wheel of Dharma immediately upon generating the mind of enlightenment, and Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas turn the wheel of Dharma without obscuration.
