也寻觅且讲述佛陀之法，却不获得完全的寂灭，也示现声闻的颜色、形体、相状和装束，却不离菩提之心，也示现独觉的颜色、形体、相状和装束，却不离佛陀的大悲心，因为具有增长十地之力的缘故，以如幻三摩地必定显现如来之形、颜色和装束，因为具有最后有之故，也安住于兜率天的极佳之处，因为增长善根之力的缘故，也示现入胎、出生、出家、苦行、降伏魔众和菩提树之心髓，因为增长智慧之力的缘故，也示现菩提之圆满证悟，祈请和转法轮，乃至因为增长智慧之力的缘故，也完全示现直至佛陀的完全寂灭之间，因为增长三摩地之力的缘故，也示现身体的坏灭，因为增长愿力之力的缘故，也示现正法彻底毁灭，这样的三摩地存在吗？世尊，菩萨摩诃萨安住于何种三摩地，能示现一切佛土的功德庄严之种种变化，也示现一切所见之形，以完全寂灭而不变为完全寂灭的三摩地是什么？如是请问之后，世尊对菩萨坚慧如此说道：坚慧，好啊！好啊！坚慧，你为了利益众多生灵，为了众多生灵的安乐，为了对世间的慈爱，为了大多数生灵以及天人和人类的利益、安乐，为了摄受现在和未来的菩萨们而发问。坚慧，你思维向如来请问此事，很好啊！

Also seeking and expounding the Buddha's teachings, yet not attaining complete nirvana, also showing the color, form, marks, and attire of the Shravakas, yet not separated from the mind of Bodhi, also showing the color, form, marks, and attire of the Pratyekabuddhas, yet not separated from the great compassion of the Buddha, because of possessing the power to increase the ten Bhumis, with the illusion-like Samadhi, certainly manifesting the form, color, and attire of the Tathagata, because of possessing the last existence, also dwelling in the excellent abode of Tushita, because of increasing the power of virtuous roots, also showing entering the womb, birth, renunciation, asceticism, subduing the Maras, and the essence of the Bodhi tree, because of increasing the power of wisdom, also showing the complete enlightenment of Bodhi, making requests and turning the wheel of Dharma, even until, because of increasing the power of wisdom, completely showing until the complete nirvana of the Buddha, because of increasing the power of Samadhi, also showing the destruction of the body, because of increasing the power of aspiration, also showing the complete destruction of the sacred Dharma, does such a Samadhi exist? World Honored One, in what Samadhi does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide, that can show the various transformations of the qualities and adornments of all Buddha lands, and also show all visible forms, what is the Samadhi that, with complete nirvana, does not change into complete nirvana? After asking thus, the World Honored One said to the Bodhisattva Steadfast Wisdom: Steadfast Wisdom, good! good! Steadfast Wisdom, you have asked for the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many beings, for love towards the world, for the benefit and happiness of most beings and gods and humans, and for the sake of embracing the Bodhisattvas of the present and future. Steadfast Wisdom, it is good that you think of asking the Tathagata about this matter!

Steadfast of Wisdom, like you, you have done deeds for the Buddhas of the past, planted roots of virtue, revered many billions of hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, completely trained in this Great Vehicle, certainly arisen on all the paths that necessarily arise from all vehicles, vanquished demons, afflictions, and adversaries, for the sake of benefiting the Dharma, possessing the wisdom of freedom over the Buddhas' Dharma, causing the wisdom of Bodhisattvas to be rightly grasped, completely gathering Bodhisattvas, holding the treasury of the Dharma of all Buddhas. Steadfast of Wisdom, like you, you have completed the prophecies requested from Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Steadfast of Wisdom, I have not seen anyone in this assembly, other than a noble being like you who has truly entered the Great Vehicle and donned great armor, whether it be a god, a Naga, a Yaksha, a Gandharva, an Asura, a Garuda, a Kinnara, a Mahoraga, a human or a non-human, or one who has truly entered the Hearer Vehicle, or one who has truly entered the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, who is able to ask the Tathagata such a question. Steadfast of Wisdom, therefore, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will show you the Samadhi with which a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, being endowed, will obtain those distinctions of qualities, and also other qualities that are even more exceedingly superior to those. Having said, "World Honored One, excellent," Bodhisattva Steadfast of Wisdom listened to the World Honored One, and the World Honored One spoke thus: Steadfast of Wisdom, there is a Samadhi called Heroic Progress; when Bodhisattva Mahasattvas abide in that Samadhi, they can also show the various transformations of the qualities and adornments of all Buddha-fields, and they will also not enter into complete Nirvana. They can also show all forms, but they will not disturb the suchness of form from the Dharmas. They can also go to all Buddha-fields, and they will recognize the various Buddha-fields.

Nor is there. Meeting with all the Buddhas will also occur, nor will it make the boundaries of Dharma different. It will also appear in all actions, and it will also know that those actions are completely pure. It will also completely grasp the lord of all gods and humans, nor will it generate those situations of becoming fat and indulgent. It will also show all the realms of Mara, nor will it abide in the deeds of Mara. It will also act in all three realms, nor will it waver from knowing the self-nature of the Dharma realm. Nor will it become death. Nor will it become birth. It will also be born in all beings, nor will it consider beings to be diverse. It will also show all the thorough distinctions of the words of Dharma, nor will it waver from the equality of letters and the understanding of the rules of Dharma. It will also abide in oneness and equality, and it will also appear to act in order to make beings fully mature, and it is also endowed with patience towards the inexhaustible and the unborn, and it will also separately establish the arising and cessation of dharmas. Because it is not discouraged in all times and places, it will also walk with the prowess of a lion, and it will also appear in all the deeds of the worldly and the transcendent, and because it is unattached like a lotus, it will always rejoice and have faith in the supreme joy of Dharma. Then those great Shravakas and, Indra and, Brahma and others, and the world protectors and others, and the sons of gods and others, and the retinue endowed with all, thought thus: We have not even heard the name of the Samadhi of Heroic Progress before, let alone extensively distinguishing and explaining it? Because we have heard the name of the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, we have obtained a very good gain. We, the retinue, have come here well. We have seen the Tathagata well. If a son or daughter of the Bodhisattva vehicle, after hearing the separate explanation of the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, generates joy and trust and faith, then those people will undoubtedly not regress from the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. What more to say about those who, after hearing, receive, hold, recite, fully understand, and also extensively explain to others, and strive in that suchness? They thought thus.
