Will become. Relying on the Buddha, one will become Brahma, will become Great Brahma, will become the forerunner of Brahma. One will become Small Light, Immeasurable Light, Bright Light, Small Virtue, Immeasurable Virtue, Increasing Virtue, Cloudless, Born of Merit, Great Fruit, Great Person, Human Lineage, Abundant Manifestation, Extremely Visible, and will become the gods of Akanistha. Relying on the Buddha, one will become a Wheel-Turning King, will become a Wheel-Turning King of Power, will become a petty king, will become a sage with five kinds of clairvoyance appearing in the world. Relying on the Buddha, the path of the ten virtuous actions will appear in the world. Relying on the Buddha, the human world will arise. Relying on the Buddha, one will become happy, wealth will increase, storehouses will be filled, and the body will become extremely soft. One will travel by elephant, travel by horse, and travel by a small troop. Manjushri, whoever, in the homes of others, feels jealousy and stinginess towards a Bodhisattva, then he should know that at that time and place there are three great fears. What are the three? They are the fear of beings falling into hell, the fear of the blind, and the fear of being born in a borderland, these are the three fears. Manjushri, if a Bodhisattva takes alms in a bowl and divides them among the emaciated, the poor, the beggars, and those who beg, then by that root of virtue, in the next life, he will become a Wheel-Turning King with great miraculous powers. Manjushri, if a Bodhisattva teaches the Dharma to householders, desiring to benefit them with compassion, desiring to help them, desiring to bring happiness and accomplishment to those beings, and does not seek gain and respect, then by that root of virtue, he will become sharp in wisdom, will become a Wheel-Turning King with great miraculous powers, will become Indra with great miraculous powers, will become Brahma with great miraculous powers, and the supreme among humans will become a Buddha. Manjushri, if a Bodhisattva sees suffering beings and generates compassion, and sees happy beings and generates great joy, then in the next life

That will turn the body into a golden color. End of the Third Chapter. Then, Mañjuśrī, who had become a youth, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, where will the noble path be spoken of? The Blessed One said: In conditioned phenomena, the noble path will be spoken of. The noble path also has no abiding place. Where there is no abiding place, there is no abiding place for consciousness. If there is no abiding place for consciousness, it is called abiding in the noble path. Where is the abiding place of the noble path? It is the abiding place of the eye, the abiding place of the ear, the abiding place of the nose, the abiding place of the tongue, the abiding place of the body, and the abiding place of the mind. Why is that? Because the eye is empty of the eye. Similarly, the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are empty of the mind. Empty of what? Empty of the past, empty of the future, empty of the present arising. In the emptiness of the eye, the emptiness of the eye is neither existent nor non-existent. Similarly, in the emptiness of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, the emptiness of the mind is neither existent nor non-existent. In the emptiness of form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma, the emptiness of dharma is neither existent nor non-existent. Why is that? Because the nature of self and mine, permanent and constant, firm and unchanging, is extremely empty, so it is not said to be empty, nor is it said to be not empty, nor is it said to be past, nor is it said to be not past. Nor is it said to be future, nor is it said to be not future. Nor is it said to be present arising, nor is it said to be not present arising. This is neither said to be past, future, and present arising, nor is it said. Why is that? Because this is empty of the past, empty of the future, empty of the present arising. Whatever is empty of the past, empty of the future, and empty of the present arising, that is purified by the past, purified by the future, purified by the present arising. Mañjuśrī, what do you think? Can that which cannot be destroyed be destroyed? He replied: Blessed One, that is not possible. Why is that? Because that is equal.
