I do not cling to the absence of a mandala of clouds, nor do I cling to the notion that the mandala of clouds is here. I do not cling to the absence of all-encompassing, nor do I cling to the notion that all-encompassing is here. Similarly, Manjushri, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the liberation without obscuration, does not cling to the absence of liberation, nor does he cling to the notion that liberation is here. He does not cling to the absence of obscuration, nor does he cling to the notion that the absence of obscuration is here. He does not cling to the absence of a Bodhisattva, nor does he cling to the notion that a Bodhisattva is here. He does not cling to the absence of practice, nor does he cling to the notion that the absence of practice is here. Buddha- fields are not clung to as absent, nor are they clung to as being here. Immeasurable is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Countless is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Inconceivable is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Unequaled is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Unfathomable is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Inexpressible is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Completely pure is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Perfectly accomplished is not clung to as absent, nor is it clung to as being here. Manjushri, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the liberation without obscuration, should not think, "Will my Buddha-field become immeasurably pure?" However, the Buddha-field of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the liberation without obscuration will become immeasurably pure without effort. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the liberation without obscuration should not think, "Will my Buddha-field become countlessly pure?" Similarly, it should be added, one should not think, "Will the Buddha-field become inexpressibly pure?" However, one who practices the liberation without obscuration

The Buddha-field of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices becomes completely pure without effort, to an inexpressible extent. Manjushri, for example, at the time of dawn, one does not think, "Will the sun rise?" However, at the time of dawn, without effort, the sun naturally rises. Likewise, Manjushri, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices unobstructed liberation does not think, "How will my Buddha-field become immeasurably pure?" However, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices unobstructed liberation, their Buddha-field, from immeasurable to inexpressible, becomes completely pure without effort. Manjushri, by practicing unobstructed liberation, the Tathagata Sarvarthasiddha's Buddha-field becomes immeasurably pure. Buddha-fields that are countless, inconceivable, unequaled, immeasurable, and inexpressible become completely pure. After speaking thus, Manjushri, the youth, asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, to what extent is the Buddha-field of the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Sarvarthasiddha, vast and completely pure?" After asking thus, the Blessed One spoke to Manjushri, the youth, as follows: "Manjushri, the extent to which the Buddha-field of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Sarvarthasiddha, is vast and completely pure is not easily understood in words." Asked: "Blessed One, is it possible to give an example?" The Blessed One said: "Manjushri, it is possible. Manjushri, for example, imagine that the worlds of forty inexpressible Buddha-fields' worth of dust particles are transformed into one city, filled with flour or other powdered substances, filled like mustard seeds. Someone grinds the mustard seeds into fine dust, and each mustard seed is as numerous as the mustard seeds themselves."

Having made the atoms of mustard seeds into finer atoms, that person, carrying those atoms on their shoulder, goes towards the east. With each step, they pass through worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Endowed with such a pace, like the swift magical power of the mind, they take such steps. With such speed, they travel for kalpas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, dropping one atom. In that manner, they drop all the atoms in the eastern direction. Similarly, they drop that many atoms in the south, west, north, and all intermediate directions. Likewise, they drop that many atoms in the upward and downward directions. Manjushri, what do you think? Which is more numerous, the worlds where atoms of mustard seeds have been dropped or not dropped? He replied: Bhagavan, the worlds where atoms have been dropped are few, while those where they have not been dropped are exceedingly many. The Buddha said: Manjushri, all those worlds where atoms have been dropped and not dropped become one city, like being filled with flour or other powders, filled with mustard seeds. A certain person grinds those mustard seeds, making each mustard seed into as many atoms as there are mustard seeds. That person carries all those atoms on their shoulder and goes towards the east. With each step, they pass through worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Like the swift magical power of the mind, they take such steps. With such speed, they travel for kalpas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, dropping one atom. In that manner, they drop all the atoms in the eastern direction. Similarly, they drop that many atoms in the southern direction, as well as in the west, north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest corners, the upward and downward directions, and all intermediate directions, dropping that many atoms.
