Not observing the dharmas is called non-abiding. The Blessed One said: Peaceful Wisdom, well done, well done! Peaceful Wisdom is like this: Just as the sky does not abide in anything, so too, Peaceful Wisdom, all dharmas do not abide. Peaceful Wisdom, all dharmas are like the sky, that is, non-abiding. Peaceful Wisdom, there are three kinds of conforming forbearance. What are the three? Small conforming forbearance, medium conforming forbearance, and large conforming forbearance. Small conforming forbearance should be described as a samadhi with power. Medium conforming forbearance should be described as a samadhi of calm abiding. Large conforming forbearance should be described as a samadhi that has power over all dharmas. Why is that? Because from small conforming forbearance, the power of the roots of virtue arises. From medium conforming forbearance, extreme peace will appear. From large conforming forbearance, the mind will enter into extreme appearance, and all its objects will be completely realized, and it will extremely abide in the nature of reality. Because it extremely abides in the nature of reality, the meanings will be well and completely grasped. That is the correct knowledge of its individual meanings. He will realize the nature of all dharmas as one, that is the correct knowledge of its individual meanings. These dharmas should also be taught according to the conventional terms of beings, but one should not be attached to these conventional terms. Even if those beings have faith in those conventional terms, one should not be attached to them, that is the correct knowledge of its individual conventional terms. For its conventional terms, one should speak according to the time, one should speak as the listeners of the Dharma understand. One should speak as the nature of dharmas is. One should speak as the emptiness of the self-nature of dharmas is. One should speak as the dharmas are unborn and unceasing. One should speak as the dharmas neither go nor come. One should speak as the dharmas neither die and transmigrate nor are born.

Confidence! Confidence like the fact that phenomena do not exist. Confidence like the fact that phenomena are unknowable and invisible. Confidence like the fact that there is no speaker and no perceiver. Confidence like the fact that there is no action and no ripening of action. Confidence like the fact that there is no samsara and no nirvana. Confidence like the fact that there is no samsara whatsoever, and no becoming of nirvana. Confidence like the fact that enlightenment and the act of becoming enlightened are imperceptible. Confidence like the fact that there is no complete affliction and no purification. Confidence like the fact that there is no attainment of any dharma. Confidence like the fact that there is no abandonment of the dharmas of ordinary beings, and no attainment of the dharmas of hearers. Confidence like the fact that one does not transcend the dharmas of hearers, and does not become the dharmas of solitary buddhas. Confidence like the fact that one does not transcend the dharmas of solitary buddhas, and does not attain the dharmas of buddhas. That individual correct knowledge of confidence cannot be confident in any dharma, thus, by obtaining the greatly conforming patience, one will accomplish mastery over all. The bodhisattva mahasattva who has obtained the greatly conforming patience, abiding in the samadhi of mastering all dharmas, will not temporarily become manifestly and completely enlightened in unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, but will also perform the deeds of the buddhas.

Just like that, his views and, from universal views to sleeping, speaking, and saying nothing, will become like that. With whatever universal conduct, the Tathagata's universal conduct, his conduct will also become like that. Having obtained the endurance of extreme conformity, with that very body, he will manifest complete perfect enlightenment and become a Buddha, and if he wishes, he can remain for countless eons. Thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who possesses the endurance of extreme conformity is called a Buddha. After saying this, the Bhikshu Peaceful Wisdom said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, when a Bodhisattva first generates the mind, when he first generates the mind for unsurpassed complete perfect enlightenment, is the one who first generates the mind a Bodhisattva? The Bhagavan replied: Peaceful Wisdom, it is not so. Peaceful Wisdom, with whatever mind one initially determines the Dharma, with that mind one is called a Bodhisattva who has initially generated the mind. Then, the Bodhisattva Peaceful Wisdom praised the Tathagata's extremely subtle mind with these verses possessing the perfection of patience. What Dharma has no birth, no arising, No death, no transmigration, does not become old, The Victorious One, the Lion, shows that, The Great Sage instructs beings in that. In what there is nothing at all, And no one finds the property of others, Neither inside nor in the external realms, No thing is found; the Protector has declared it. Although the Sugata spoke of Peaceful Wisdom, No being whatsoever can be found, He clearly taught that they are liberated from beings, And having been liberated, many beings are completely liberated. He teaches that all dharmas are without self, And completely liberates the world from the clinging to beings, Having liberated himself from beings and liberating beings, Therefore, even going to the other shore, there is no crossing. The Great Sage has gone to the other shore of existence, But going to the other shore, nothing is found, If there is no other shore and no this shore, Then it can also be said that he has gone to the other shore. He who speaks in words does not exist, And the word that was spoken never came into being, To whom was it spoken
