When repeatedly born in that Buddha-field, beings regard it as the first coming of the Buddha and find it extremely rare. Wherever he is born, when the Tathagata appears there, the signs that appear are the signs of that birth. When the Tathagata attains perfect enlightenment, the signs that appear also appear after obtaining the five kinds of direct perception. When the Tathagata turns the wheel of Dharma, the signs that appear also appear when he explains the five kinds of direct perception. When the Tathagata abandons the activities of life, the signs that appear also appear when abandoning the activities of life. When the Tathagata enters complete Nirvana, the signs that appear also appear at the time of death. Thus, in each lifetime, countless billions of beings are subdued by him into the Great Vehicle. Many billions of beings are subdued into the Hearer Vehicle. For a time, that Bodhisattva did not manifest unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, but showed such Buddha-deeds to sentient beings. Manjushri, at that time, if you doubt and hesitate, thinking that the Bhikshu named 'Knowing Intellect' is someone else, Manjushri, do not look at it that way. Why is that? Manjushri, the Tathagata All-Accomplishing-Meaning, was the Bhikshu named 'Knowing Intellect' at that time. Manjushri, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who truly accomplishes unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment should possess such strength of diligence as the Bhikshu Knowing Intellect possessed. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses the strength of diligence will easily equalize the mind with little effort. Why is that? A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses the strength of diligence can withdraw the mind from the objects of the senses, and also does not fixate on the objects of the senses in the objects of the senses, the objects of the senses are the objects of the senses.

sees emptiness by its very nature. The meaning of the senses and the signs of the senses are also not focused on. Whoever focuses on the signs of the senses, that is also not focused on. ||| Third Chapter. Mañjuśrī, in the past, there were immeasurable eons. Incalculable. Inconceivable. Unequaled. Unmeasurable. Unspeakable, beyond that, there was an eon called Amrita Essence. Mañjuśrī, in that eon of Amrita Essence, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksaṃbuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, unsurpassed charioteer who tames beings, teacher of gods and humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, named Boundless Subduer, appeared in the world. Mañjuśrī, when that Tathagata Boundless Subduer appeared, in all of everything, there was no sound that contradicted the noble truths. The sound of all sentient beings also taught the Four Noble Truths of suffering, origin, cessation, and path. The attendant of the Tathagata Boundless Subduer, there was a monk named Pleasant Sound, who knew the meaning, knew the Dharma, knew the time, knew the measure, knew himself, knew his retinue, knew the good and the bad. He served the Tathagata Boundless Subduer with pleasant offerings for ninety crore eons, and not with unpleasant ones. He also upheld the teachings that were taught, and did not abandon his own benefit. During those ninety crore eons, he did not generate thoughts of desire, did not generate thoughts of harm, did not generate thoughts of injury, did not generate thoughts of living beings and persons, nor was it with things, nor was it with Dharma, nor was it with non-Dharma, nor did he generate discriminations of desire, nor did he generate discriminations of harm, nor did he generate discriminations of injury, nor did he discriminate towards relatives, nor did he discriminate towards non-relatives, nor did he discriminate towards knowing, nor did he discriminate towards not knowing, nor did he discriminate towards objects, nor did he generate thoughts of displeasure. Having meditated on the samadhi that is separated from thoughts, with that root of virtue, he never failed to attend to and honor the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. He attended to and honored countless billions of hundreds of thousands of nayutas of Buddhas. Because he served and attended to all those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, he attended to and meditated on the samadhi of the nature of the absence of things. And having cultivated it greatly, from then on, until incalculable eons, he was never born in a field without Buddhas. He never generated perception in a field, nor did he generate perception in Buddhas. Never did the mind of enlightenment fail to arise continuously. Constantly, without interruption, he attended to and served the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. In all the Buddha-fields, he fully ripened sentient beings with emanations. Wherever he emanated, in each of those emanations, sentient beings thought that a Buddha had appeared. And he showed those sentient beings various kinds of miraculous displays. Wherever he emanated, in each of those emanations, he emanated according to the inclinations of the sentient beings, and in order to tame them, he combined with the minds of the sentient beings to be tamed, and became a Buddha for the sake of taming.
