If someone attains the basis of thought, that person can attain the essence of all dharmas, can attain their own body, can attain the view of self, can attain a person, which is not true. The characteristics of dharmas are different, emptinesses are different, and the place of thought is explained to show emptiness. The essence of the basis of thought has no essence, no place, no thought, no speech, and no desire. If the essence of mind does not exist, what need is there to mention the absence of a place for the mind? Therefore, the Tathagata has spoken of the place called the mind. Shariputra, if all dharmas truly had an essence as small as one-tenth of a hair tip, then the words of the Buddha would not change in the world, and ultimately the essence of all dharmas would not be spoken of as emptiness. Shariputra, all the dharmas of the Buddha are truly empty, without essence, and with only one characteristic, which is no characteristic, and all the Tathagatas have seen it. Therefore, the Tathagata has spoken of the existence of the place of thought. Shariputra, the place of thought is called the place of name without existence, and there is no non-existence. There is no thought, no action of thought, no feeling, no discrimination, no mind, no action of mind, no thought, no action of thought, no dharma, and no characteristic of dharma. Because all these aggregates do not exist, it is called the name of intelligence and transformation without discrimination, and its name is called the place of thought. Therefore, the Tathagata has spoken of the existence of the place of thought. Because there is nothing, it is called the place of thought. Because of thinking of the Buddha, the name is called the place of thought. Shariputra, how is it called thinking of the Buddha? Seeing that there is nothing is called thinking of the Buddha. Shariputra, all Buddhas are immeasurable, inconceivable, and inexpressible. Therefore, seeing that there is nothing is called thinking of the Buddha, and there is truly no name discrimination. Because all the dharmas of the Buddha have no discrimination, if the mind has no discrimination, then it is called thinking of the Buddha. Furthermore, seeing the true characteristic of all dharmas.

It is called seeing the Buddha by name. If the true characteristics of all dharmas are called, then all dharmas are ultimately empty and there is nothing. Therefore, the dharma that is ultimately empty and has nothing is the thought of the Buddha. Also, in such a dharma, not even a trace of mind can be obtained, that is called the thought of the Buddha. Shariputra, that is called the dharma of the thought of the Buddha, it is the path of speech that is cut off, arising beyond all minds, mind cannot be obtained, that is called the thought of the Buddha. Shariputra, all minds are empty and peaceful signs, if the dharma is not like that, then it is called the practice and cultivation of the thought of the Buddha. It is not possible to think of the Buddha by using colors. Why? Because thinking of colors, taking forms, clinging to tastes, that is called consciousness. Without form, without color, without conditions, without self-nature, it is called the thought of the Buddha. Therefore, if there is no discrimination, no taking, no abandoning, then the thought of the Buddha will appear to be true. Chapter Three, namely the chapter on the thought of dharma. At that time, Shariputra asked the Buddha: World Honored One, if this dharma is preached to others, how does it become an evil friend? World Honored One, if this dharma is preached to others, how does it become a good friend? Shariputra, if someone points out to other monks, you should know that the thought of the Buddha is emptiness. The thought of the place of conditions, that is the lineage of thought. If you think of emptiness, then thought is also emptiness, with the emptiness of no self-nature, it is possible to cut off the consciousness of color, it is possible to cut off the taking of consciousness. If that person does not even obtain unconsciousness at that time, what need is there to mention the mind? That person is then peaceful and empty to everything that exists or does not exist, if there is no self-nature, then consciousness will not gather. If all dharmas are peaceful, then that is the practice and cultivation of thought. The name of becoming a Buddha is that good and non-good, and all feelings and discriminations are peaceful. Without feelings, and without discriminations, emptiness and without consciousness, it is called the thought of the Buddha. Why? Because feelings and discriminations...
