There is no view. There are no sentient beings. There is no person. There is no coming. There is no going. There is no entering. There is no discipline. There is no decline. There is no purity. There is no impurity. There is no samadhi. There is no sage. There is no root of the sage. There is no meditation. There is no root of meditation. There is no knowing. There is no seeing. There is no desire. There is no contention. There is no path. There is no fruit of the path. There is no wisdom. There is no root of wisdom. There is no appearance. There is no non-appearance. There is no liberation. There is no non-liberation. There is no fruit. There is no attainment of fruit. There is no power. There is no attainment of power. There is no fear. There is no absence of fear. There is no mind. There is no root of mind. There is no dwelling. There is no going. There is no ritual. There is no this shore. There is no other shore. There is no conceptualization through memory and awareness. There is no enlightenment. There are no factors of enlightenment. There is no wisdom. There is no absence of wisdom. There is no earth. There is no water. There is no fire. There is no wind. There is no sin. There is no merit. There is no dharma. There is no absence of dharma. There is no suffering. There is no happiness. Since the root matrix of all discursive speech has arisen, and all is completely separated, there is no number or smoke. Shariputra, the cherished words are to be acted upon. My dharma destroys all minds and all views, and all demons and all arising of laziness. Memory and mind are the minds of all beings. All words of speech are eliminated. In my dharma, there is no permanence, nor is there impermanence. There is no suffering, nor is there happiness. There is no impurity, nor is there purity. There is no annihilation, nor is there permanence. There is no view of self, nor are there sentient beings. There is no person, nor is there lifespan. There is no life, nor is there birth. There is no cessation. Why is that? Shariputra, the Tathagata has passed away, there is no self in the dharma. Because there is my pacification, it is called Nirvana. Nor is the attainment of Nirvana seen. Shariputra, the Buddha does not think of Nirvana. Nor does he make a mind of Nirvana. There is no attachment to Nirvana. Therefore, this appears very wonderful, existence is rare. This is what the Tathagata said.

To abandon all dharmas, there is neither birth nor cessation, neither sign nor action. If all people believe and understand this, it is difficult to even obtain half of it. The second chapter is the chapter on contemplating the Buddha. At that time, Shariputra asked the Buddha: "World Honored One, in this Dharma, what is called an evil friend? What is called a virtuous friend?" The Buddha said to Shariputra: "If a certain bhikshu teaches another bhikshu: 'Bhikshu, you should contemplate the Buddha! You should contemplate the Dharma! You should contemplate the Sangha! You should contemplate the precepts! You should contemplate generosity! You should contemplate the gods!' Bhikshu, you should be aware of the body and contemplate that this physical form is impure! All actions and all dharmas should be known as impermanent! All dharmas should be known as empty! Bhikshu, you should take the signs of all causes and conditions, and as bound in the mind, contemplate the sign of emptiness as one! You should have faith in virtuous thoughts! You should take the signs of unwholesome dharmas, Having taken the signs of unwholesome dharmas, for the sake of cutting them off, you should examine and contemplate, diligently practice. To cut off desire, you should contemplate the sign of impurity. To cut off hatred, you should contemplate the sign of loving-kindness. To cut off ignorance, you should contemplate the dharmas of cause and condition. You should constantly contemplate pure precepts, deeply take the sign of emptiness. You should constantly practice diligence, and after obtaining the four dhyanas, seek the path of liberation with one mind. You should abandon unwholesome dharmas and contemplate the inner happiness. Practicing the path of liberation with one mind, you should be aware of and distinguish the difference between good and unwholesome. Having become aware of the signs and taken them, contemplate with one mind, contemplate the bliss of nirvana, empty and peaceful, and constantly take the ultimate of nirvana, pure and immaculate. Such a teacher is called a perverse teacher. Such a straightforward teaching is actually a perverse teaching. Shariputra, such a teacher is called an evil friend. Such a person is called a slanderer, always dwelling in emptiness. It can also be said that he is expounding the perverse path of liberation to others."

Shariputra, I would not give even a mouthful of water or offerings to such a bad reputation. I speak of the teacher, not the disciple. Shariputra, in my Dharma, there are many who are lazy and manifest arising in such a way. Shariputra, receiving the Dharma is receiving the precepts. If one cannot give everything away within five years, then receiving the Dharma in such a way requires diligent effort, thereby attaining a state of having nothing. The monk has gone, not asking or seeking, and I say that although that person has passed five years, they only see empty names, mixed with the Dharma of ignorance, acting like the teachings of demons. Shariputra, some monks, having heard that they have already received the Dharma, but have not obtained any Dharma of emptiness, just as they perceive themselves, that what I received before was all empty names, and for the Dharma of emptiness that has not obtained anything, there is neither doubt nor regret, because they have entered deeply into it, without hearing, so they do not rely on self-view and person-view, etc. Shariputra, I say that such a person is called practicing pure conduct. Shariputra, if some monks achieve such forbearance of no attainment, they will immediately see Nirvana without remainder. I prophesy that that person will enter the first sangha of the time of Maitreya Buddha. At that time, Maitreya Buddha will also be very happy, calling out three times, saying that that person, relying on the Dharma of Shakyamuni Buddha, has achieved the forbearance of no attainment, so they are capable. Shariputra, whether one is at home or has left home, if one achieves such forbearance, I will prophesy that that person has attained Nirvana. Shariputra, some people, after receiving the Dharma, if they hear the Dharma of emptiness that has not obtained anything, are frightened and terrified as if they are sick, that person is pitiful, without reliance, without protection, and will fall into hell. Why? Shariputra, being frightened and doubtful of the Buddha's Dharma, that person is because they possess the conditions for the evil path. How so? If I say there is permanence, that is also part of the evil path. How so?
