The letter of the Dharma of the Buddha's Treasury. The letter of the Dharma of the Buddha's Treasury. The letter of the Dharma of the Buddha's Treasury. One volume. One name is the teaching from all Dharmas. The first chapter of the letter of the Buddha's explanation of the Buddha's Treasury, which is the chapter on the true characteristics of all Dharmas. Thus I have heard, at one time, the Buddha was dwelling on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (Vulture Peak) in the city of Rājagṛha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar, India), together with many great bhikṣus. All were learned and wise, and countless Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas, beyond measure. At that time, Śāriputra arose from samādhi and went to the Buddha, baring his right shoulder, and bowed his head and face to the Buddha, and requested the Buddha: World Honored One, the Tathāgata has said that all dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, and no action. It is rare for people to believe and understand this. The Buddha said to Śāriputra: What merit do you see that you praise the Tathāgata's saying that all dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, and no action, and that it is rare for all people to believe and understand this? Śāriputra requested the Buddha: World Honored One, if there is no truth, then people will think like this in their minds. World Honored One, you explain the Dharma without name and characteristics with names and characteristics, and you explain the Dharma without words and speech with words and speech. Thinking about this meaning, the mind arises that it is rare to understand. The Buddha said to Śāriputra: That is so, that is so. It is rare to have meaning, it is extremely rare, therefore it is called the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment of the Buddhas. Śāriputra, for example, a skilled painter paints in the sky, and all kinds of colors and forms appear. What do you think in your mind? Is that painter rare or not rare? World Honored One, he is rare. Śāriputra, the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment attained by the Tathāgata, says that all dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, and no action. People

It is extremely rare for everyone to believe and understand. Why? Because for the Dharma that has no name and no characteristics, there is no thought, no attainment, no practice, because it is inconceivable, and the mind cannot abide or rely on it. There is no indicative expression, the indicative expression is also not something that can become a basis. There is no feeling, no examination, and no collection, and the mind cannot contain it. There is no attainment by attainment, no this shore, no other shore, no discrimination, no movement, and no self-nature. From the very beginning, it is empty of self-nature, so it cannot be thought of or arise. Therefore, the Dharma without name and characteristics that all the world cannot believe in is explained with names and characteristics. Like that, all Dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, no action, so it is extremely rare for everyone to believe and understand. Shariputra, if someone swallows Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains, can digest it completely in his throat, and can fly away in the sky without harm, what do you think? Is it rare or not rare? World Honored One, it is rare. Shariputra, the Buddhas said that all Dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, no action, if everyone believes and understands, it is extremely rare. Shariputra, for example, a city, each side is one yojana in length, width, and height, and flames have arisen at the four gates, and a person carries a bundle of dry grass on his back, wanting to pass through it. The fierce wind blows the flames, burning his body, but the fire does not burn the grass, and his body is not burned, and he comes out of it, and is not the same as before, what do you think? Is it rare or not rare? World Honored One, it is rare. Shariputra, the Tathagata said that all Dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no characteristics, no action, if everyone believes and understands, it is extremely rare. Shariputra, for example, if someone makes a stone into a boat, wanting to cross from this shore of the lake to the other shore, what do you think? Is it rare or not
