Fear and dread are like falling into a deep abyss. Attachment to worldly gain is like craving delicious flavors; upon hearing of aversion to food, sadness arises in the heart. Some people crave reading mundane writings, from which they generate self-righteous and false cognitions. Attachment to words is craving idle chatter. Craving to expound self-made ornate language is due to not having a pure mind towards the supreme Buddha's teachings, lacking faith and respect for this Dharma. Shariputra, this is like a hermaphrodite. Lacking male organs, entering among men, they generate the thought of being a hermaphrodite, thinking thus in their heart. They think that this person and others are no different from themselves. Therefore, attachment to mundane writings is always craving to adorn with self-made ornate language, and their hearts are disrespectful towards the supreme Buddha's teachings. Shariputra, if among these people there is someone who holds pure Dharma texts, they are also disrespectful towards that person, and they also despise monks who uphold pure precepts. Why? Shariputra, because in the Dharma texts of Murdug, there are no true and correct words. They are those who are arrogant and complacent due to the Dharma, lazy, conceited, and self-important. Why? Because this meaning is not for those who renounce the world. Nor is it for those who transcend suffering, because these people have lost the four roots of faith and so on, and do not believe in the meaning of all happiness, like a hermaphrodite, saying that everyone is the same as themselves. Shariputra, this is like a blind person not seeing colors. They do not see black or white, nor do they see black and white colors. They do not see beautiful colors. Nor do they see ugly colors. They do not see blue, yellow, red, white, or rainbow-like colors. They do not see shapes such as long, short, thick, and thin. They do not see stars, the sun, and the moon, just as a blind person does not see the sun, moon, and stars, and their mind speculates arbitrarily. There is no black and white color. There is no seeing of black and white color. There is no good and bad.

There is no color. Blue and yellow and red and purple, long and short, thin and thick, deep or not deep, the colors of the sun, moon, and stars are not there. Because the sun, moon, and stars are not visible, it is assumed that everything else is the same as oneself. The mind of a blind person is inverted, saying that all places are completely dark. Shariputra, a monk who has broken his vows, a lazy and growing person, will fall into the statement of staying put. The monk is also the same, not believing and not having faith in the profound Dharma of the Buddha, unable to comprehend it. Hearing that all dharmas are empty and there is nothing, they do not believe and do not have faith. Unable to comprehend it. Shariputra, like other people, you may also fall into wrong paths, and I fear you will not obtain the right Dharma. Practicing this right Dharma is called a true and accurate practitioner of truth. Regarding everything you have obtained, that person does not believe, just like a blind person saying there are no colors such as black and white. Shariputra, that person dwells in such wrong paths, seeking the statement of staying put, craving many terrifying words, giving rise to and increasing the evil nature of sorrow and confusion, and evil dharmas. If that person does not believe that all dharmas are empty, what need is there to even mention comprehension? Shariputra, what do you think in your mind, has the fox finished roaring like a lion? Is it roaring now? Will it roar later? Walking like a lion, is it walking now? Will it walk later? Can it complete the walk? Can it not complete the walk? World Honored One, it cannot be completed. Why? Because the color, strength, and sound of the fox cannot be like that of a lion. The fox can only make the sound of a fox. If a sound is made, only the sound of a fox will come out, not the sound of a lion. That is so. Shariputra, a monk who has broken his vows, a lazy and growing monk, thinks that he is truly virtuous. Unclean preaching is listening to the words of fools, clinging to one meaning, holding on tightly and not letting go. Greedy for worldly gain, valuing and craving reading mundane texts, unable to comprehend the truth of all dharmas.
