Fallen. This is the next part of the Pure Discipline chapter. Furthermore, Shariputra, when a monk who has broken his vows hears all the Dharma teachings spoken by the Buddha, such as these, his mind is impure and displeased. He is not happy, does not believe, and does not have faith. Knowing that he is at fault, he does not believe in this scripture, thinking that it is spoken for himself and others, not for others. Why? Because I and others were previously in that state. Shariputra, regarding such a supreme Dharma that cannot create a saint, a monk who has broken his vows will scold, and will not truly believe in the teaching of the Dharma. Hearing all that the Buddha has said, he will contradict, not accept, and think it is not the Buddha's word. He will say that this is what the Buddha said, but it is not to teach others. Why? Because it is impossible for a monk who has broken his vows to practice the path. A monk who practices the path will not contradict the Buddha's words. All of this is because the one who has broken his vows is foolish and ignorant, practices evil Dharma, and does not believe in his heart. Such a monk who contradicts the Buddha's words, because he knows that he is at fault, will scold, be arrogant, lazy, violent, conceited, evil and unjust, lazy, and generate evil thoughts, slandering and defaming the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Shariputra, at that time, when that monk hears all these scriptures, because he contradicts and does not believe, and his mind has not comprehended the unsurpassed Bodhi, he will say to others that this is not what the Buddha said. Shariputra, for the words spoken by the Buddha, such a person is called a slanderer of the Dharma. He is not a practitioner, not a son of the Shakya clan, but a race that has come into being out of nothing. Such a monk, even if hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddhas repeat it three times, and it has been clearly shown, cannot understand, nor can he obtain the fruit of the path. Why? Shariputra, an evil person is said to have obscured his own path with this Dharma, and there is no chance of birth, nor a believing mind, but only craving for clothes and food, and greed for worldly gain, believing that I have correctly departed from this person.

said that sentient beings would fall into hell. Shariputra, now I will declare to you the door of manifestation and distinction. If someone goes against this Dharma Jewel, there is no chance of being reborn in a good realm, only to be born in a bad realm, forever blind and without eyes. Shariputra, those monks are arrogant and lazy. Because they are old and unable to explain correctly, they destroy my true Dharma. Ordinary people cannot harm each other, and they destroy my Dharma for the sake of offerings. Shariputra, this Dharma Jewel is destroyed at that time. Why? Because this Dharma Jewel is revered by all Buddhas, and self-Buddhas and Arhats, etc., should all revere it, but the monks who break the precepts grow in laziness and do not correctly explain the Dharma. Other monks, etc., at that time, all despise and are lazy towards my Dharma. Everyone abandons giving, becomes stingy and greedy, focuses on livelihood, and cherishes wealth and profit. Bound by jealousy, they always like to fight, take turns generating hatred, and do not respect each other. There is no satisfaction. The nature of the mind is also like a naughty monkey, and after changing the rituals, they do evil deeds. The Dharma activities of the monks decline, and wisdom and supernatural powers also disappear. Shariputra, this kind of evil person hides his sins, and because of many desires and many pursuits, he uses wealth. Because of self-support, the evil demon knows his mind, and uses methods to separate them, dividing the originally unified Sangha Jewel into five factions. Because there are five factions, disputes arise, and they speak of each other's rights and wrongs and mistakes. Shariputra, the current monks teach each other, respect each other, practice in harmony, and do not go against what the Buddha said. The monks of that time do not teach each other, do not respect each other. Seeing evil deeds, they are afraid and give up, practicing as Dharma. One
