From the ground, they sat down in one direction. Furthermore, at that time, the lords of the rakshasas, such as the terrifying one, as many lords of the rakshasas as the sands of eighty Ganges rivers, with minds completely devoid of rakshasa thoughts, manifested before the twin sala trees with a great assembly of splendor. They prostrated to the Bhagavan and sat down in one direction. Furthermore, at that time, the lords of fruit trees, such as Fragrant Intoxication, as many lords of fruit trees as the sands of ninety Ganges rivers, carrying an assembly of offerings that was twice as much as all the previous offerings, and adorned the ground with thickets of many flowering vines with fat male cuckoos and buzzing bees, and with leaves that were blossoming, and sat down in one direction. Furthermore, at that time, the king of mantra holders, Great Illusion, and others, as many kings of mantra holders as the sands of a thousand Ganges rivers, carrying offerings that were more than twice the previous offerings, sat down in one direction. Furthermore, at that time, the goddess with the form of fulfilling all desires, Beautiful Eyes, and others, as many goddesses as the sands of a billion Ganges rivers, carrying offerings that were more than twice the offerings of the queen of Vaishali, piled their own ornaments on the ground before the Bhagavan and sat down in one direction. Furthermore, at that time, the goddesses Rambha and Urvashi, and others, as many goddesses as the sands of a hundred billion Ganges rivers, carrying offerings that were twice as much as the previous offerings, led by attendants, sat down in one direction as before.

Together with hundreds of thousands of kotis of Ganges River sands, even out of season, trees, vines, shrubs, and forests, as well as ears of grain, flower vines, and corals adorn the earth. The splendor of flowers of all seasons flourishes in all directions. The twin sala trees with budding leaves and red roots appear as if the yellow rays of the rising sun are resting on saffron. Carrying offerings that are twice as great as the previous offerings, they make offerings to the Bhagavan and, as before, abide near the twin sala trees. Furthermore, at that time, great clouds and water birds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, the god of rain, follow one another, and from within the lightning, a stream of rain the color of a peacock's neck falls. Accompanied by clouds with slow thunder, they shower down flowers mixed with cool drizzle, prostrate to the Bhagavan, and, having given up hope of eating, abide in the sky itself in order to extinguish the fire of the Tathagata's cremation. Furthermore, at that time, incense elephants such as the Sound of Incense Elephant, Gentian Color, Honey Color, and Wish-Fulfilling Incense, as many as twenty times the sands of the Ganges River, all with the intention of the Great Vehicle, in order to completely pacify the Teacher, carry medicine from the snowy mountains, lotus roots, and tree trunks as thick as the spokes of a great chariot wheel. From the great monasteries, they pluck and carry lotuses, utpalas, kumudas, white lotuses, as well as roots, fruits, and various different rock sugars, using their trunks. They are faster than the wind and arrive very quickly, roaring like summer thunder. They arrange lion thrones adorned with lotus petals, make offerings to the Bhagavan, and, having given up hope of eating, abide on one side. Furthermore, at that time, lions such as the one called Lion's Roar, as many as thirty times the sands of the Ganges River, all with the intention of giving fearlessness to all sentient beings, use the great power of lions to [carry] incense.
