So, are you deceiving me? Before, it was said that milk was poison, but now it is said that milk is the best medicine. Alas, it is terrible to have expelled the previous doctor! If his analysis of milk is praised, then he is a great doctor, not a bad one. Your analysis of milk is the reason for your expulsion. The doctor reported: Great King, please do not think otherwise. For example, even if one sees wood or a wall that has been eaten by insects, forming marks like letters, wise people will not say that the insects know how to write. Even if it looks like written letters, one should not be surprised. Similarly, your previous doctor's analysis of milk should be seen as letters carved by insects, because he did not understand the differences between various types of milk. The king said to the doctor: How could that bad doctor not know the differences between various types of milk? The doctor reported: Great King, milk is both nectar and poison. It is called nectar when the cow is very strong, the calf is also very strong, it does not drink the residue of alcohol, it does not live in the depths of the forest, in hollows, or in muddy water, the nipples are not squeezed by the herdsman, it does not eat cut grass, it stays in its own herd, it does not mingle with herds of buffalo, and so on, possessing these qualities of a cow. Moreover, when milking, it should be done in moderation, without leaving any residue, and such milk can cure all diseases. Then, the king was very surprised and said to the doctor: Master, now I know that your analysis of milk is both good and bad. Then, the king ordered, "Drink milk!" All the subjects, hearing the king order again to drink milk, were confused, saying, "Has the king been possessed by a demon? Or is he mocking us?" In this way, the people of the city and all the subjects came before the king. The king, seeing them, said: This doctor says that milk is like this, what doubts do you have? Then, the king, the people of the city, and all the sub

Everything became delighted, and they offered unparalleled service to the doctor, just as they rely on milk for treatment. Monks, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, Tamer of Men, Supreme, Teacher of Gods and Humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, appeared in the world like a good doctor, surpassing all the heretics who are like bad doctors, completely subduing and destroying them, making many kings rejoice. To defeat the heretics, he proclaims no self, no sentient beings, no life, no person. The self taught by the heretics is like letters carved by worms. Therefore, I teach no self to all sentient beings. Teaching no self is the word of the Buddha, and he bestows the blessing of the Dharma. Again, to tame those to be tamed, and for the benefit of sentient beings, knowing the time, at the very moment of teaching that all dharmas are without self, like a good doctor, he also truly teaches that there is self. It is not like the self that worldly people say is the size of a thumb or the size of a millet grain. Nor is it like the self that worldly people cling to. Here, all dharmas are called no self. All dharmas are not without self, for the self is Suchness. The self is permanence. The self is virtue. The self is steadfastness. The self is stability. The self is peace, like the milk of a good doctor. The Tathagata also teaches that he possesses Suchness, and the fourfold assembly should diligently practice it. Monks, besides the foundation of morality, whatever doubts and hesitations you have, ask me, and I will answer well and make you satisfied. I am liberated from all meditations and teach the great emptiness of inherent existence. Monks, you Tathagatas teach us the great emptiness of inherent existence.

Do not say that, do not say that there is no teaching. Monks, besides the basis of discipline, whatever doubts and hesitations you have, please ask me. Then, those monks reported to the Blessed One, saying: Asking the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha is not our scope, we are not capable. The Buddha, the Blessed One, is also inconceivable, the samadhis are also inconceivable, and your teachings are also inconceivable, so we are not capable of asking. Blessed One, for example, there is a person who is old and frail, already one hundred and twenty-six years old, afflicted with illness, lying on the bed. Someone entrusts a treasure to him, saying: Hey, you keep this treasure, and when I return from afar in ten or twenty years, return it to me. Then he entrusted the treasure to him. That old man also had no son. Not long after that person left, the old man passed away. When that person returned, although he lost a large amount of wealth, there was no one to tell. Similarly, Blessed One, besides the basis of discipline, what we ask will not last long for the Shravakas, and we have nothing to ask. The Blessed One said to them: Monks, what you ask will benefit all sentient beings, therefore I have opened the opportunity to ask. Then, the monks reported, saying: Blessed One, for example, there is a young man who is twenty-six years old, rich and with a perfect retinue. Someone entrusts a treasure to him, saying: Hey, I am going to work, and when I come back, you return this treasure to me. That person hid the treasure well and guarded it well. When he came back, he returned it to him. Similarly, Blessed One, you have well spoken the excellent Dharma, such as the Shravaka Ananda...
