also completely enter into Nirvana. Then, the Blessed One said to those monks: Monks, do not say that. Monks, I shall entrust the teachings to the hand of Kāśyapa (འོད་སྲུང་, Sanskrit: Kāśyapa), who will be like the Tathagata, becoming a refuge for the monks. He will become a protector for the monks and sentient beings. For example, a king who owns many cities goes to one city, and a householder is authorized as the king. Similarly, in this world, I authorize the great Kāśyapa. Monks, how do you cultivate the perceptions of suffering, impermanence, selflessness, and impurity? Monks, for example, when the season of lush grass arrives, people accumulate water in the forest, and each carries their swimming gear to play in the water. In the water, someone places a precious jewel with the qualities of lapis lazuli (བཻ་དཱུཪྱ, Sanskrit: Vaiḍūrya). Desiring that lapis lazuli, they all abandon their swimming gear and enter the water, picking up tiles or gravel in the water, thinking they are jewels, and saying: I have found the jewel! I have found the jewel! Each comes out of the water and sits by the pool, realizing that it is not a jewel. The water in the pool is also beautiful like moonlight because of the light of the jewel. Seeing that beauty, they have the thought that this is the merit of the jewel. Among them, one who is skilled in methods and quick-witted truly finds the jewel. Similarly, monks, whatever you cultivate and increase, holding everything as suffering, everything as selfless, everything as impermanent, everything as impure, all of these are like the tiles and gravel in the pool, mistaken and meaningless. Act like that skilled person! Whatever you cultivate holding everything, in that there is happiness, there is self, there is permanence, and there is purity, these four aspects are...

It should be called without inversion. Therefore, one should cultivate the perception of permanence in the suchness of Dharma, like a jewel. Then, the monks said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Blessed One taught that all dharmas are without self. One should meditate in this way, and those who meditate in this way will abandon self-grasping. If self-grasping is abandoned, then nirvana will be attained. What is the meaning of what the Blessed One said? Blessed One, Tathagata, please explain the distinctions within it. The Blessed One said to those monks: Monks, well done, well done! Monks, if you want to definitely cut off my doubts, you should ask like that, very good! Monks, for example, in some city, there is a king who is foolish and unwise. That king has a bad doctor, and that doctor is also a bad doctor, but from top to bottom he has great power, and the king also respects him. He believes that only milk is medicine, and he does not understand the root of the disease. He mistakenly uses milk as a treatment, and applies it to all kinds of wind diseases of all people. He also uses it for bile diseases and phlegm diseases. Even so, he is still considered the best doctor, and that king is also a foolish person who cannot distinguish between good and bad. Then, the physician Jivaka, who is skilled in the eight branches of medicine and knows the later tantras, came newly from another country and relied on that doctor, saying: I have heard your name and have come to learn, please be my teacher. Then, that bad doctor heard this and said to the newly arrived doctor: For forty-eight years, you must serve me well, serve me through asceticism, and then study, and you will become a doctor. Then, he listened to the bad doctor and replied: I will do that. He finally satisfied that bad doctor, and then went to the royal palace and reported to the king: Great King, you are always diligent in all the scriptures.

Please make a storehouse, and if you do so, the king will be worthy of being a king. The king also said, "That is true, I have heard it." Then, the king distinguished between that quack doctor and the other doctor, and banished that bad doctor from the country, and honored the other good doctor. Then, the doctor thought, "Now is the time." So he said to the king, "Great king, if you are pleased with me, please allow me to make a request; if the great king is also pleased, please allow me to make a request." The king said to the doctor, "Ask for anything from my right hand down, including all the wealth!" The doctor said to the king, "Great king, the milk test of that quack doctor is the poison halahala (藏文:ཧ་ལ་ཧ་ལ།,梵文天城体:हलाहल,梵文罗马拟音:halāhala,汉语字面意思:Halahala), do not let it enter the lungs, please order throughout your entire kingdom that the milk test of the previous doctor is the poison halahala Halahala), and whoever drinks the milk will have their head cut off." If you do not do so, sentient beings will die untimely deaths. I wish to live and be without disease, I, the god, wish to have that request." Then, the king said to the doctor, "If that is the case, then make a small request, and I will give the order." So he gave the order. Then, as ordered, everything became orderly. Then, the doctor said to the king again, "Please issue the same order two or three more times." Then, the doctor cured the diseases of the people with sweet, sour, salty, spicy, astringent, and bitter tastes. After a while, the king became ill and summoned the doctor and instructed him, "I am about to die, I will give you whatever wish you desire that is befitting the king's circumstances." Then, the doctor said to the king, "Great king, I am speaking falsely. Milk is nectar, please eat food mixed with milk." Then, the king said to the doctor, "Have you been intoxicated by bile?"
