Cremate him according to the method for a Cakravartin king! Ananda then inquired: What is the cremation ceremony for a Cakravartin king like? The Blessed One told Ananda: The Cakravartin king is kept for seven days after death, and first placed inside an iron coffin. After being placed in the coffin, the inside of the coffin is filled with fragrant sesame oil. The opening is sealed well, and it is kept for another seven days. Then, it is taken out of the coffin and bathed with scented water. After being bathed with scented water, it is offered and fumigated with incense, and the whole body is wrapped with cotton wool. On top of the cotton wool wrapping, a thousand pieces of fine white cloth are tightly wrapped. After being wrapped in this way, it is placed in a coffin filled with fragrant sesame oil. The king's bones are placed back inside the coffin, and the coffin opening is sealed well. It is carried on a chariot made of fragrant wood and decorated with seven precious gems. The sides of the chariot are also hung with ornaments, and the chariot is also decorated with various jewels. Countless flowers, banners, seven precious umbrellas, victory banners, various good incenses, and divine music surround and make offerings. Then, the bones of the Cakravartin king are cremated with fragrant wood that has patterns inside and out, and with fragrant oil. After being cremated in this way, the relics are collected, and a stupa with four gates made of seven precious gems is built at the crossroads of a large city. The relics are placed inside, and all beings in the world are allowed to rejoice and view them. Ananda, the Cakravartin king only obtained the kingship through a little merit, but he was not liberated from samsara. He possessed five desires, including consorts and the adornments of palaces. He possessed evil views and the three poisons. He did not abandon even a hair's breadth of afflictions and secondary afflictions, and after death, he remained in the world, so such a ceremony is performed. After building the stupa, all are allowed to rejoice and view it. Ananda, what need is there to mention the Tathagata? From countless, immeasurable, inconceivable kalpas, he has completely abandoned consorts, the adornments of palaces, and the five desires.

E! Having realized worldly phenomena as like mist or hail, seeking difficult practices and engaging in extremely difficult conduct, all Bodhisattvas engage in difficult practices that transcend the world. All Buddhas who abide in the ten directions and three times have accomplished perfectly pure discipline, as well as samadhi, wisdom, liberation, and the wisdom of liberation. There is nothing among the six perfections that has not been accomplished. Furthermore, the ten powers of the Tathagata, great compassion, the four fearlessnesses, the three doors of liberation, the eighteen emptinesses, the six superknowledges, the five eyes, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the eighteen unshared qualities, the thirty-two major marks, the eighty minor marks, the lifespan of all Buddhas, the complete purification of all Buddha-fields, the complete maturation of all sentient beings, all difficult practices, the discipline of accumulating merit, the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, the discipline of restraint, all qualities, all wisdoms, all ornaments, all great aspirations, all skillful means, and so forth—all such inconceivable merit and wisdom are spontaneously and perfectly accomplished. All non-virtue is completely cut off, all afflictions are completely cut off, and all habitual tendencies of afflictions are completely cut off. Having deeply understood the four truths and the twelve links of dependent origination, having subdued the four maras under the Bodhi tree, and having become omniscient wisdom, by diligently applying oneself to all such holy Dharma, all the Buddhas unanimously praised, "Excellent! Excellent!" And unanimously, with the water of the wisdom of Dharma-nature, empowered the crown of the Dharmakaya. Initially, it was proclaimed that one had manifestly awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Therefore, I am now the teacher of gods and humans, having perfectly awakened and become enlightened in the ten directions, known as the Bhagavan, unparalleled among gods and humans.
