It also transforms. The seed will only ever produce the fruit of "I will become a Brahmin," and will not distinguish between "I do not want the fruit of Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras." Why is that? Because the transformation of the seed into fruit does not discriminate between the four castes. Dharma and non-dharma are also the same, the so-called "I" will only transform into the fruit of Buddha's giving, and will not transform into the fruit of Ishvara's giving. Or rather, it will only transform into the fruit of Ishvara's giving, and will not transform into the fruit of Buddha's giving, no such distinction is made. Why is that? Because the karma is the same. Sani reported: Gautama, for example, if hundreds and thousands of oil lamps are lit in a room, although the wicks of the oil lamps are different, the light is no different. The different wicks of the oil lamps are a metaphor for Dharma and non-dharma. The undifferentiated light is a metaphor for the so-called "I" of all sentient beings. The Blessed One taught: Noble son, as you say, the light of the oil lamp is a metaphor for "I," that is not right. Why is that? Because the room is separate and the oil lamp is separate, the light of the oil lamp exists both in the wick of the oil lamp and in the room. As you say, if the so-called "I" is like that, then both Dharma and non-dharma should have "I," and within "I" there should also be Dharma and non-dharma. If there is no "I" in Dharma and non-dharma, then the so-called all-pervading is also not right. If both have it, then can both the wick and the light of the oil lamp be used as a metaphor? Noble son, if in your mind you clearly think that the wick and the light of the oil lamp are different, then why is it that when the wick of the oil lamp is good, the light is also bright, and when the wick of the oil lamp is exhausted, the light disappears? Therefore, it is not right to extract the metaphor of Dharma and non-dharma from the wick of the oil lamp, and to extract the metaphor of the so-called "I" from the undifferentiated light. Why is that? Because Dharma and non-dharma and the so-called "I" are things

It is for the sake of the three becoming one. Sani asked: Gautama, that example you took from the lamp is not auspicious. What is the reason for that? If taking an example from the lamp is auspicious, I would have asked earlier. If it is not auspicious, why do you say that? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, I do not say that the example I give is auspicious or not auspicious. Combining it with your mind, is there light beyond the essence of the lamp? The essence itself is light, as an example. Because your mind is not calm, you have taken the example of Dharma and non-Dharma from the essence of the lamp, and the example of self from the light. Therefore, light comes from essence, light exists outside of essence, there is self in Dharma, there is Dharma in self, non-Dharma is self, and I am also non-Dharma. In saying this, you want one extreme and do not want the other, which is not right. Therefore, that example is not auspicious for you. Therefore, I repeat to you, son of good family, that example cannot be used as an example. Because it cannot be used as an example, it is auspicious for me, but not auspicious for you. Son of good family, as you say, if it is not auspicious for me, you should not think that it is not auspicious for you either. What is the reason for that? The way of the world is that my weapon harms me, and what I do is enjoyed by others. Your example is the same, it is auspicious for me, but not auspicious for you. Sani asked: Gautama said earlier that I am not calm, but now what you say is also not calm. What is the reason for that? Gautama claims auspiciousness for himself and pushes inauspiciousness to me, therefore, in terms of reasoning, it is also not calm. The Blessed One said: Son of good family, my lack of calmness has calmed your lack of calmness, you are calm, and my lack of calmness is auspicious. My lack of calmness has calmed your lack of calmness, and you have become calm, which is also my calmness. What is the reason for that? It is for the sake of being calm in accordance with the noble ones. Sani asked:
