The Blessed One, Gautama, said, "If I am always equal, why do you say that I am not equal?" If I am equal to all sentient beings, why do you say that I am not equal to myself?" Noble son, you also say that sentient beings fall into hell, into the realm of hungry ghosts, into the realm of animals, or become humans or gods. If the self pervades the five realms, why do I experience the five realms? You also say that you become a son by meeting with your two parents. If the son already exists, why does he become a son by assembling and meeting? Therefore, one person alone has the body of all five realms. If the five realms already have bodies, why is it necessary to act for the sake of the body? Therefore, it is inevitable that there is no equality. Noble son, the idea that the self is the agent is also not right. Why is that? If the self is the agent, why do I create suffering, and individual beings truly experience suffering? Therefore, it should be understood that the self is not the agent. If suffering is created by me, but it does not arise from a cause, then all dharmas are the same, and if they do not arise from a cause, why do you say that I am the agent? Noble son, the suffering and happiness of sentient beings truly arise from causes and conditions. Therefore, suffering and happiness give rise to sorrow and joy, there is no joy in times of sorrow, and there is no sorrow in times of joy. Sometimes there is joy, and sometimes there is sorrow. Why would a wise and intelligent person say that it is eternal? Noble son, is the self that you speak of eternal? If it is eternal, why does it change and differ in ten different times? The eternal dharma is the race that exists from the time of the first infancy to the time of old age. Space is an eternal dharma, and it does not have even one time, let alone ten times. Noble son, the so-called 'I' is an infant

If it is not from a time of non-aging to a time of aging, why are there discrepancies in the ten kinds of time, saying that they are different? Son of good family, if it is said that "I" am the doer, then "I" has a time of prosperity and a time of decline, and sentient beings also have a time of prosperity and a time of decline. If it is said that "I" is like that, why is it said to be permanent? Son of good family, if "I" am the doer, why is it that people are the same, yet some have sharp faculties and some have dull faculties? Son of good family, if "I" am the doer, then "I" will also perform the actions of the body and the actions of speech. If the actions of speech are also done by "I", why does speech say that there is no self, and why is there hesitation about whether there is or is not? Son of good family, it is not permissible to say that you think there is seeing beyond the eyes. Why is that? If there is another seeing beyond the eyes, then these eyes would be unnecessary, like the senses of the body. Do you think that although "I" can see, it is only through the condition of the eyes that I can see? That is also not permissible. Why is that? For example, a person burns down a large city from a Sumana flower. How is it burned down? It is said that it is burned down by the condition of fire. Your saying that "I" can see is also the same. Sani asked: Gautama, it is like holding a sickle to cut grass, I also see, hear, and touch through the condition of the five senses. Son of good family, the sickle and the person are separate, why is it necessary to hold the sickle to do it? If there is no other "I" beyond the senses, why is it said that "I" can do things through the condition of the senses? Son of good family, do you think that you can cut grass by holding a sickle, and that "I" is also like that? Does "I" have hands? Or does it not have hands? If it has hands, why does "I" not hold the sickle? If it does not have hands, why is it said that "I" is the doer? Son of good family, the sickle is what cuts the grass.
