...? The Blessed One said: Good, good! Son of good family, you have asked very well. The so-called Buddha-nature is like the sky, it is neither past, nor future, nor present. All sentient beings have three bodies, namely past, future, and present. Sentient beings in the future, with the arrangement of perfect and pure karma, will see the Buddha-nature, so I say that the Buddha-nature is the future. Son of good family, I have said for individual beings that sometimes the cause is the effect, and sometimes the effect is the cause. Therefore, as stated in the Sutra, food is life, and seeing form is touch. Similarly, in the future, the body will become completely pure, so it is called Buddha-nature. Reported: Blessed One, as the Blessed One said, if that is the case, why is it said that all sentient beings have Buddha-nature? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, the Buddha-nature of sentient beings, although it does not exist in the present, cannot be said to be non-existent. For example, although the sky does not exist now, it cannot be said to be non-existent. Although all sentient beings are impermanent, the Buddha-nature is permanent, unchanging, and immutable. Therefore, in this Sutra, I say that the Buddha-nature of sentient beings is not inside, not outside, like the sky, not inside, not outside. If the sky has inside and outside, then the sky cannot be called one or permanent, nor can it be said to exist everywhere. Although the sky is not inside and not outside, all sentient beings have it, and the Buddha-nature of sentient beings is also the same. As you said, those with wrong views have good Dharma, but that is not the case. Why? Because those with wrong views have the karma of body, the karma of speech, the karma of mind, the karma of receiving, the karma of giving, the karma of seeking, and the karma of knowing, etc. all...

All are inverted actions. Why is that? Because they do not expect cause and effect. Son of good family, for example, just as the arura from sprout, leaf, trunk, branch, flower to fruit is like hail, so too are the non-virtuous actions of those with inverted attachment. Son of good family, the Thus-Gone One has the power to know the faculties, therefore, he is very clear about the superior, middling, and inferior faculties of all beings. He is very clear about which beings change from middling faculties to inferior faculties, which beings change from middling faculties to superior faculties, which beings change from superior faculties to middling faculties, and which beings change from middling faculties to inferior faculties, therefore, the faculties of beings are uncertain. Because they are uncertain, some cut off the roots of virtue and are reborn. If the faculties of beings were certain, then from the beginning they would not be cut off, and having been cut off, they would not be reborn, and those with inverted attachment would fall into the hell of beings for one eon, this is what the Buddha said, O son of good family. Son of good family, therefore, the Thus-Gone One said that all dharmas do not have a definite nature. The Bodhisattva Light Protector asked: Blessed One, the Thus-Gone One has the power to know the faculties, if he knew that the monk Good Star had completely cut off the roots of virtue, why did he allow him to be ordained? The Blessed One replied: Son of good family, when I was ordained in the past, all of my younger brother Nanda, Near Nanda, Devadatta, and son Rahula, etc., followed me into ordination, and I allowed them to strive on the path. If I had not let Good Star be ordained, he would have obtained the position of king, and because he possessed power and strength, he would have completely destroyed the Buddhist Dharma, for that reason, I let him be ordained and allowed him to strive on the path. Son of good family, even if the monk Good Star had not been ordained, he would still have cut off the roots of virtue, and for countless rebirths he would not have been the cause of benefit and happiness. Now, although he has cut off the roots of virtue by being ordained, he will keep the precepts and respect the elder
