Now it will not change. What is the reason for that? Because wise and intelligent people realize that defilements arise from that cause, so they think that if I completely cut off that cause, defilements will not arise. Son of good family, just as a doctor completely cuts off the cause of a disease, the disease will not arise, so the wise and intelligent people cut off the cause of previous defilements in the same way. Wise and intelligent people first observe the cause, and then observe the effect after the cause. They deeply realize that good effects arise from good causes, and bad effects arise from bad causes. After observing the effect, they will abandon the bad cause. In this way, after observing the effect, they gradually observe the thickness of the defilements. After observing the thickness, they first abandon the thick defilements. In this way, after abandoning the thick defilements, the subtle defilements will also disappear naturally. Son of good family, wise and intelligent people, after understanding defilements, the cause of defilements, the effect of defilements, the thickness of defilements in this way, in order to eliminate those defilements, they will not stay on the path of Bodhi, will not regret, but will diligently rely on virtuous friends and listen to the Dharma with one mind. Son of good family, just as a sick person knows that his illness has been alleviated and will not be devoured by ghosts and gods and can live, even if he finds a bitter medicine, he will drink it without regret, so wise and intelligent people are also like this, they are happy to diligently practice the noble path, do not grieve, do not interrupt, and do not regret. Son of good family, if someone understands defilements, the cause of defilements, the maturation of the effect of defilements, the thickness of defilements, and then diligently cultivates the noble path in order to eliminate those defilements, then it is not like that form arises from defilements, and so on, even between feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness. If someone does not understand defilements, the cause of defilements, the maturation of the effect of defilements, the thickness of defilements, and does not diligently practice the noble path, then it is not like that form arises from defilements, and so on, even feeling

And, sensation and, formation and, between consciousness is also the same. Son of good family, whoever knows afflictions and, the cause of afflictions and, the fruition of afflictions ripening and, afflictions being subtle and, coarse, and for the sake of cutting off afflictions, diligently applies himself to Bodhi, is the Tathagata. Therefore, the form of the Tathagata is permanent, up to consciousness is permanent. Son of good family, whoever does not know afflictions and, the cause of afflictions and, the fruition of afflictions ripening and, afflictions being subtle and coarse, and does not diligently apply himself to Bodhi, is an ordinary person, a base commoner. Therefore, the form of an ordinary person, a base commoner, is impermanent, from feeling and, sensation and, formation and, up to consciousness is also impermanent. Son of good family, the wise and intelligent scholars of the world and, the noble ones and, Bodhisattvas and, all Buddhas also thus declare these two truths. I also thus declare these two truths. Therefore, what I say does not contend with the wise of the world, and is not defiled by the dharmas of the world. Bodhisattva Light Protector asked the Bhagavan thus: Bhagavan, as the Bhagavan said there are three kinds of outflows of existence, how are the outflow of desire and, the outflow of existence and, the outflow of ignorance? The Bhagavan taught: Son of good family, the so-called outflow of desire is the internal non-virtuous discrimination and, being moved by external conditions, the outflow of desire will arise. Therefore, I previously taught Ananda in Rajagriha thus: Ananda, you hold this verse spoken by this girl. This verse was spoken by the Buddhas of the past. Therefore, internal non-virtuous discrimination and, external conditions are called desire, this is the outflow of desire. Among them, the outflow of existence is the form realm and formless realm, internal non-virtuous dharmas and, external causes and conditions, conditions outside the desire realm and, internal
