will be realized by yourself. Son of the lineage, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, in order to destroy the suffering of all sentient beings, makes the aspiration to be born into an extremely large animal body, and gives his flesh and blood as alms to sentient beings. When sentient beings take it, in order to generate a mind of loving-kindness and compassion towards them, the Bodhisattva at that time even stops breathing, as if dead, and does not even have a doubt as to whether those who take the flesh and blood will be killed because of it. Even if the Bodhisattva is born in the animal realm in this way, he will never create the karma of the animal realm. What is the reason for this? Son of the lineage, because the Bodhisattva has attained the irreversible mind, he will never create the karma of the three lower realms. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, in the future, even if it is a result of the lower realms as small as a mote of dust, which he would definitely experience, he will experience it for the sake of sentient beings through the power of great aspiration. For example, a sick person who is possessed by a ghost, although it is not visible on the surface, will appear through the power of mantra, sometimes speaking, sometimes happy, sometimes angry, sometimes scolding, sometimes beating, sometimes crying, sometimes laughing wildly. The karma of the three lower realms of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva in the future is similar to this. When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva becomes the body of a bear, he constantly teaches the Dharma to sentient beings. Sometimes he becomes the body of a bird, a crow, or a magpie, and teaches the Dharma to sentient beings. In order to teach the Dharma to sentient beings, he also becomes the body of a peacock, a deer, a rabbit, a yak, a sheep, a monkey, a white pigeon, a garuda, a naga, or a snake. In this way, when experiencing many animal bodies, he never creates the karma of the animal realm, but constantly teaches the Dharma to other beings in the animal realm, and makes them hear the Dharma in order to quickly liberate them from the animal realm. The Bodhisattva at that time,

Therefore, even though experiencing the body of an animal, they do not create negative karma. Thus, it is understood that they are not devoured by demons and possess an irreversible mind. When a great bodhisattva experiences a famine, seeing beings threatened by starvation, they are born into countless bodies of enormous turtles and fish. They make the aspiration: 'May all beings cut and eat the flesh of my body, and may it grow back after being cut. Through eating my flesh, may they be free from the suffering of hunger and thirst. May all beings generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment.' They make this aspiration. Furthermore, the bodhisattva says: 'Those who are freed from hunger and thirst by eating my flesh, may they quickly be freed from all the faults of hunger and thirst in the twenty-five existences of the future.' They make this aspiration. When a bodhisattva mahasattva experiences suffering in this way, their irreversible mind will certainly not be devoured by demons, and they will attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. This should be understood. Furthermore, when a bodhisattva encounters a time of disease, if they see beings afflicted by illness, they think: 'Just as the king of medicinal trees, whatever part a sick person takes—root, stem, branch, leaf, flower, fruit, or bark—can cure the illness, may my body become like that. Whichever sick person hears my voice, touches my body, or eats my flesh and blood, even eating my bones and marrow, may all their illnesses be cured. May beings who eat my flesh not generate negative thoughts, but think of it as eating the flesh of their own child. May they be healed by my illness and then teach the Dharma to them. May those beings, having heard it, generate faith, retain it, and also teach it to others.' They make this aspiration. Son of good family, although a bodhisattva possesses afflictions and experiences suffering in their body, their mind does not turn back, waver, or change. This is certainly because they possess an irreversible mind and will attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. This should be understood. Furthermore
