If a mind of attachment arises, then that Bodhisattva also possesses the Dharma of attachment. Because pure morality is lost, and the lineage of pure conduct is destroyed, therefore morality is defiled. So, it cannot be said to be one who possesses pure morality. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva claims to have pure morality, but does not touch women, nor speaks words of flirtation and play, nor listens to sounds of lust, but if he sees men pursuing women, or women pursuing men, and generates attachment, then that Bodhisattva also possesses the Dharma of attachment. Because pure morality is lost, and the lineage of pure conduct is destroyed, therefore morality is defiled. So, it cannot be said to be one who possesses pure morality. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva claims to have pure morality, neither touches women, nor speaks words of flirtation and play, nor listens to sounds of lust, nor looks at men and women associating, but is attached to and delights in the five desires of the gods of the higher realms, then that Bodhisattva also possesses the Dharma of attachment. Because pure morality is lost, and the lineage of pure conduct is destroyed, therefore morality is defiled. So, it cannot be said to be one who possesses pure morality. Son of good family, a Bodhisattva who holds pure morality does so not for the sake of morality itself, not for the perfection of morality, not for sentient beings, not for the sake of benefit and happiness, not for the sake of Bodhisattvas, not for the sake of Nirvana, not for the sake of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, but only for the sake of the supreme ultimate meaning that he guards morality, such a Bodhisattva is called one who possesses pure morality. One should rely on a virtuous friend. A virtuous friend is one who demonstrates faith, morality, extensive learning, generosity, and wisdom, and who can be emulated by others; this is the virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva. One should rejoice in peace. Peace is like this:
