Give me your garden and cover it with gold! Jeta said: I am not selling my garden, why should I cover it with gold? Anathapindika said: If you are not satisfied with this, we will go to the arbiter. Then the two householders went to the arbiter, and the arbiter ruled: the garden belongs to Anathapindika, and Jeta covers it with gold. Then gold was transported by chariots and horses, and the ground was covered. One day, only five hundred steps were not covered with gold. Jeta said: Householder, if you regret it, you can return it. Anathapindika said: I think I can take as much gold as I want, and I have no regrets in my heart. Jeta thought: The Tathagata, the King of Dharma, speaks the supreme and undefiled Dharma, which is completely pure and without attachment. This person is so generous with treasures. Thinking of this, he said to Anathapindika: These remaining places do not need gold. I will build a gatehouse for the Blessed One, so that the Tathagata can often come and go. Then the householder Jeta built the gatehouse. The householder Anathapindika built three hundred great halls, sixty-three meditation rooms, warm winter houses and cool summer houses, each complete with bathrooms, foot washing places, and latrines for urination and defecation, etc., all without lack, within seven days. After all the work was done, he took the alms bowl and said from afar next to Rajagriha: All the offerings have been prepared, and the compassionate Tathagata, for the sake of all beings, please accept this place. I (the Buddha) then knew the mind of that householder with my divine power, and with my retinue, from Rajagriha, with great power, in the time it takes to extend and retract an arm, I arrived at Jeta's Grove in Shravasti, in the immeasurable palace of Anathapindika. After arriving there, the householder Anathapindika offered me the prepared offerings. I then accepted the offerings and stayed there.

It is finished. Then, the six teachers of the heretical sects gave rise to jealousy, gathered together and went to the king named Destroyer of All Enemies, and said to him: Great King, please understand this. The king's country is very peaceful and happy, this is truly a place for renunciation and practice, therefore we also live here now. Great King, you rule the country with the true Dharma and eliminate the suffering of the people. But the Shramana Gautama here is young and has studied for a short time, he doesn't understand anything. Relying on his royal lineage, he does not respect the elders and virtuous people who lived here before. If he is a royal, he should govern the people, even if he is a renunciate, he should respect the elders. Great King, please listen carefully. Shramana Gautama is not truly born of the royal caste. If Shramana Gautama has parents, why does he rob other people's parents? Great King, our scriptures record this: After a thousand years, an evil deceiver will appear, referring to this Shramana Gautama. Shramana Gautama has no father and no mother. If he has parents, why does he say that all dharmas are impermanent, suffering, selfless, empty, without an agent, and without a receiver? This is deception and hypocrisy, deceiving sentient beings, foolish people will believe it, wise people will abandon it. Great King, the meaning of king is the parents of all people, as fair as a scale, as supportive as the earth, as flowing as the wind, as burning as fire, as passable as a road, as flowing as a river, as connecting as a bridge, as illuminating as a lamp, as warm as the sun, as cool as the moon, judging according to the law, without love or hatred. This Shramana Gautama does not give us food, wherever we go, he secretly follows us and does not let us go. Great King, we will compete with Gautama in magical powers, if he wins, we will be under his control, if we win, we will be in charge.

Please listen. The king said, 'Venerable ones, you each have your own Dharma to practice, and your places are also different. I am certain that the Tathagata will not harm you.' The six teachers said, 'How will it not cause harm? This Shramana Gautama has deluded people with magic, causing Brahmins and others to take refuge in him, and everything is finished. If the king allows us to compete with him in miraculous powers, the king's good name will spread in all directions. If not, a bad name will spread everywhere.' The king said, 'Venerable ones, you do not know how great the Tathagata's miraculous power is, so you want to compete. If you truly understood, I am afraid you would not dare to do so.' Great king, have you also been deceived by the Shramana? Great king, please rest for a while and do not slander us. Rather than arguing with words meaninglessly, it is better to compete, and the truth will be revealed.' The king said, 'Okay, okay.' After saying that, the six teachers and their entourage left very happily. At that time, King Derabtupham (the king's name) and his entourage came before me, respectfully bowed their heads, circumambulated three times from the right, and then sat down on one side and said to me, 'Bhagavan, the six heretical teachers came before me and requested to compete in miraculous powers. I agreed without careful consideration.' The Bhagavan said, 'Great king, very good, very good. Build some more residences besides this one.' Why? If I compete with them in miraculous powers, more of their entourage will turn to believe in me, and this place is too small to accommodate them.' Son of the lineage, at that time, for the sake of the six heretical teachers, from the first to the fifteenth, I displayed amazing miracles and wonders. At that time, countless beings generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Countless beings developed unwavering faith in the Three Jewels. Countless members of the six teachers' entourage developed evil thoughts.
