When that Bodhisattva cultivates the causes and conditions for the thirty-two marks in that way, the mind of enlightenment will not regress. Son of good family, all sentient beings are inconceivable, the realm of activity of the Buddhas, the fruits of karma, and the nature of the Buddha are also inconceivable. What is the reason for that? Because these four dharmas are constant, and because of such constancy, they are inconceivable. Because all sentient beings are obscured by afflictions, they are called constant; cutting off constant afflictions is called impermanent. If all sentient beings are constant, why is it necessary to cultivate the eightfold noble path? That is because of cutting off many sufferings; if many sufferings are cut off, then it is called impermanent. Whatever experiences happiness is called constant; therefore, I say that all sentient beings are completely obscured by afflictions, so they do not see the Buddha-nature, and because they do not see it in that way, I said, "They do not escape sorrow." Simhanada Bodhisattva asked: World Honored One, as the World Honored One said, all dharmas have two kinds of causes, namely, the cause of truth and the cause of conditions. With two kinds of causes, there is no bondage and liberation. The five aggregates arise and cease moment by moment; if they arise and cease in that way, who would be bound and liberated? World Honored One, the cause of these five aggregates gives rise to the five aggregates of the future life; these aggregates are self-extinguishing, so they do not go to the aggregates of the other side. Although they do not go there, they are able to produce the aggregates of the other side, just as the cause of the seed produces the sprout; the seed does not go into the sprout. Although it does not go into the sprout, it will eventually arise; sentient beings are also like that, so how can there be bondage and liberation? The World Honored One said: Son of good family, listen carefully and attentively, and I will explain and show you. Son of good family, for example, when people experience the suffering of dying, relatives and friends surround them and wail; that person, because of fear and dread, does not
