If one commits misdeeds and conceals them without confessing, lacks a sense of shame and embarrassment, does not see the cause and effect and the ripening of karma, does not pray to wise and knowledgeable individuals, and does not rely on virtuous spiritual friends, then no skilled doctor can cure them. For example, if one is afflicted by a disease called "Kamapala," no doctor in the world can cure it. Concealing misdeeds is also the same. What is concealing misdeeds? It is being a heretic. A heretic is someone who does not believe in cause and effect, has no shame or embarrassment, does not believe in the ripening of karma, does not see the karma of the present and future, does not rely on virtuous spiritual friends, and does not enter the teachings of the Buddha. Such a person is called a heretic, and even the Buddha cannot cure them. Why is that? Just as no doctor in the world can cure a corpse, a heretic is the same, and even the Buddha cannot cure them. Great King, it is not right to say that because I am not a heretic, my illness cannot be cured. As the King said that my illness cannot be cured, Great King, you should understand it this way. The son of King Śuddhodana of the Śākya country, of the Gautama clan, named Siddhartha, realized enlightenment on his own without being taught by anyone, and attained the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, becoming a Buddha. He is adorned with the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks, possesses the ten powers and four fearlessnesses, is omniscient, all-seeing, has great love and compassion, cherishes all beings like Rāhula, speaks at the right time like a cow does not abandon its calf, does not speak out of time, speaks truthfully, speaks purely, speaks whitely, speaks meaningfully, speaks in accordance with the Dharma, speaks decisively, and completely eliminates the afflictions of many beings. He subdues the faculties of various beings.

He is extremely skilled in the nature of words and thoughts, and extremely skilled in various methods. His wisdom is as high and steep as Mount Sumeru, and as vast and deep as the ocean. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, possesses vajra-like wisdom, and destroys all the sinful actions of ordinary beings, so there is nothing that he cannot destroy. He is now twelve yojanas beyond here, in the city called Auspicious Grass, dwelling between two sala trees. He is now teaching various kinds of Dharma to the immeasurable and countless Sangha of Bodhisattvas, namely existence and non-existence, conditioned and unconditioned, with outflows and without outflows, the fruits of affliction, pure Dharma, form and non-form, neither form nor non-form, self and non-self, neither self nor non-self, permanent and impermanent, neither permanent nor impermanent, pleasure and non-pleasure, neither pleasure nor non-pleasure, characteristics and non-characteristics, neither characteristics nor non-characteristics, cessation and non-cessation, neither cessation nor non-cessation, mundane and supramundane, neither mundane nor supramundane, vehicle and non-vehicle, neither vehicle nor non-vehicle, experiencing oneself through one's own actions, experiencing others through one's own actions, and no experience through no action. Great King, if anyone hears the Buddha's teaching of no action and no experience, all his sinful actions will be completely eliminated. Great King, listen for a moment. When Indra, the lord of the gods, is near the time of death, five omens appear beforehand. What are the five? His clothes become stained, the flowers on his head wither, his body emits an unpleasant odor, sweat comes from his armpits, and he does not wish to stay in his place. At that time, if Indra, the lord of the gods, encounters any renunciant or Brahmin in a secluded place

I approached his dwelling, generating the thought that he was a Buddha. At that time, that ascetic or Brahmin, seeing the lord of the gods, Indra, made a prayer and said: Lord of the gods, we take refuge in you. Indra, hearing this, knew that he was not a Buddha and thought to himself: Since this is not a Buddha, I will not be able to eliminate these five inauspicious omens. At that time, a minister named Banaśrī said to Indra: Lord of the gods, the king of the Gandharvas named Kapila has a daughter named Subharta. If you grant me that daughter, I will show you the place to pacify the king's inauspicious omens. Indra said: The daughter of the Asura king Thagzangri, named Idongma, will be my wife. If you can show me the place to pacify my inauspicious omens, I will give her to you as well, let alone Subharta. Lord of the gods, the Blessed One, the Buddha Shakyamuni, is now residing in Rajagriha. Go to where he is, and if you hear what you have not heard before, the inauspicious omens that cause the end of life will surely be pacified. Son of good family, if the Blessed One can pacify them, then go to where he is. Having said this, he turned his mount and went to where the Blessed One was on Vulture Peak in Rajagriha. He bowed his head at the feet of the Buddha and sat down on one side, saying to the Blessed One: Blessed One, among gods and humans, what is bound by bondage? The Blessed One replied: कौशिका (梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思:乔尸迦) Kausika, greed, desire, and jealousy. Again he asked: From what do greed, desire, and jealousy arise? He replied: They arise from ignorance. Again he asked: From what does ignorance arise? He replied: It arises from carelessness. Again he asked: From what does carelessness arise? He replied: It arises from perversion. Again he asked: From what does perversion arise? He replied: It arises from a mind of doubt. Blessed One, the Dharma of perversion arises from doubt, this is the teaching of the Noble Ones.
