Wipe everything clean. Doing such work like that, for him, there is no like or dislike, because the great king is also like the wind. For example, if autumn trees are cut down, they will grow back in spring. Like this, even if trees are cut down, if it is correct, it will not become a sin. All sentient beings are also like this, after dying from here, they will be reborn here again. Like this, being reborn here again, so it will not become a sin. The ripening of the fruits of suffering and happiness of all sentient beings is beyond my control. The ripening of karma in this present time also depends on the causes of the past. The ripening in this present time has no cause in this present time, and there will be no ripening of fruits in the future. Because the present fruit ripens, individual ordinary people guarding precepts and striving diligently are also to prevent the fruits that will become sins in this present time. By guarding precepts, one becomes free from outflows. Because of being free from outflows, karmas with outflows will disappear. Like this, when karma is exhausted, many sufferings will also be exhausted. When many sufferings are exhausted, one will be liberated. Go quickly to see that expounder! The diseases that cause suffering to body and mind will also be healed, and meeting him will completely purify sins. The great king said: If my sins can indeed be purified, then I shall take refuge in him. Then, a great minister named Knowing All Affairs came to the king and said: Great king, why are you so frowning, pale, and colorless? Like a king who has lost his throne, or a spring that has dried up, or a pond without lotus flowers, or a tree without flowers and leaves, or like a monk who has broken his vows, becoming without splendor? Is it that the body is suffering, or is it that the mind is suffering? The king said: Where is there a time when my body and mind are not suffering now? My father, the king, is loving and compassionate to me, always making me happy with all kinds of supreme bliss, the kindness of my love

Because I didn't remember, I killed my innocent father king. I have heard from wise and intelligent people that if one kills one's parents, one will inevitably suffer great pain for countless kalpas, being devoured by demons. I am certain to fall into the Avici hell soon. I have no refuge to atone for this sin. The minister said: Great King, do not grieve for the time being. Has the King not heard? Formerly, a king named Lampa killed his father and seized the throne. Also, King De, King Bilachina, King Nahosha, King Kadeka, King Bishaka, King Moonlight, King Sunlight, King Glorious, King Holder of Many Beings, and so on, those kings also killed their fathers and seized the throne, but not one of those kings fell into hell. The current King Vaidurya, King Otana, King Tumba, King Biva, King Lotus, and so on, those kings also killed their fathers and seized the throne, and not one of them grieves. Who has seen hell beings, hungry ghosts, and gods? Great King, there are only two kinds of existence, namely humans and animals. These two kinds of existence are neither born from cause and condition, nor do they die from cause and condition. Since there is no cause and condition, where does good and evil come from? Great King, do not grieve. Why? Because whoever is always grieving, grief will become the cause of producing fields. Just as those who like to sleep, sleeping will become the cause of producing fields, becoming more sleepy. Similarly, greed and craving, and strong faith in alcohol should also be understood. The king said that it is not right to say that there are no skilled doctors in the world who can cure diseases of body and mind. Now the great teacher, the son of Katyayana, Nogen, is called all-knowing, all-seeing, like the great earth, not distinguishing between gold and earth, with a sandalwood thread on his right rib, and a stone staff and weapons on his left rib.

Even if obstructed, there is no difference between the two. Maintaining equanimity towards love and hatred. The true teacher, who has become a skilled physician of the world. Whether walking, staying, dwelling, or sleeping, always keeping the mind equally in samadhi. That great, unconfused teacher is now teaching the Dharma to many attendants, saying: If I have done it, or caused others to do it; if I have killed, or caused others to kill; if I have burned, or caused others to burn; if I have tormented, or caused others to torment; if I have stolen, or caused others to steal; if I have engaged in unchaste conduct, or caused others to engage in unchaste conduct; if I have lied, or caused others to lie; if I have drunk alcohol, or caused others to drink alcohol; if I have killed the people of a city, or a town, or a country; if all sentient beings are killed by a wheel of swords; if all sentient beings in the south of the Ganges River are given charity, and all sentient beings in the north of the Ganges River are killed, neither of these will become sin or merit, because there is no charity, no discipline, and no samadhi. That teacher is now residing in Rajagriha (ancient capital of Magadha, near Patna, Bihar), great king, you should quickly go to that great teacher! If you meet him, your sins will be completely purified. The king said: If it is truly as you say, that my sins can be purified, then I should go and take refuge in him. The Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra, Chapter 26. Then, the minister named Tashi (吉祥) again said to the great king: Great king, why is your face so gloomy and without color, like a candle in the sun, the moon in the daytime, a king who has lost his throne, or like the setting sun? Great king, you have no opposing enemies from all four directions, why are you so sad and oppressed by suffering? Great king, is it that your body is suffering, or is it that your mind is suffering? The princes always think like this.
