It is called guarding the precepts. Thus, because the precepts are completely pure, one diligently engages in samadhi. Because one diligently engages in samadhi, one does not lose right mindfulness in each and every place where one is born. For example, all sentient beings have the Buddha-nature, and the twelve categories of scriptures, and the permanence, bliss, self, and purity of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and all the Bodhisattvas are extremely vast. Because they abide in the Great Nirvana Sutra, all do not speak of things such as seeing the Buddha-nature. By diligently engaging in samadhi, one will also attain the eleven emptinesses, which is called diligently engaging in the complete purification of the Bodhisattva's samadhi. Thus, having the qualities of precepts and samadhi, one diligently engages in completely pure wisdom. By diligently engaging in wisdom, from the beginning, one does not grasp that there is a self within the body, or that there is a body within the self; one does not grasp the body and the self as not being the body, not being the self. This is the Bodhisattva diligently engaging in the complete purification of wisdom. By diligently engaging in wisdom, the precepts that have been guarded also become extremely stable. Son of good family, for example, Mount Sumeru cannot be moved by the four winds. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva is also the same, and cannot be moved by the four inversions. Son of good family, at that time, that Bodhisattva knows, sees, and realizes that the precepts that I have guarded cannot be shaken in any way. This is called the Bodhisattva's knowing, seeing, and realizing, and it is not the same as that of worldly people. Son of good family, because the Bodhisattva Mahasattva sees that the precepts that have been guarded in this way are extremely stable and unmoving, there is no regret. Because there is no regret, the mind becomes extremely joyful. Because it becomes extremely joyful, the mind becomes extremely satisfied. Because it becomes extremely satisfied, one attains bliss. Because the mind becomes extremely blissful, one attains unwavering samadhi. Because one attains unwavering samadhi, knowledge and vision also become correct. Knowledge and vision also become correct.

Therefore, (the Bodhisattva) will be disgusted with samsara. Because of being disgusted with samsara, one will be liberated. Because of being liberated, one will clearly see the Buddha-nature. This is the knowledge, vision, and realization of a Bodhisattva, not the knowledge of worldly people. Noble son, these are what worldly people do not know, do not see, and do not realize, but what Bodhisattvas know, see, and realize. The Venerable Light-increaser again asked: World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva diligently purify the precepts completely, so that from having no regret to clearly seeing the Buddha-nature? The World Honored One said: Noble son, worldly precepts cannot be called completely pure. Why? Because worldly precepts are related to conditioned phenomena, their nature is uncertain, they are not ultimate, and they do not increase for the benefit of all sentient beings, therefore they cannot be called completely pure. Because they are not completely pure, they are related to regret. Because they are related to regret, there is no joy. Because there is no joy, there is no satisfaction. Without satisfaction, there is no happiness. Without happiness, there is no immovable samadhi. Without immovable samadhi, there is no correct knowledge and view. Without correct knowledge and view, one will not be disgusted with samsara. Without being disgusted with samsara, one will not be liberated. Because there is no liberation, one will not see the Buddha-nature. Because one does not see the Buddha-nature, one cannot attain great nirvana. This is what is called worldly precepts, which are not completely pure. Noble son, the completely pure precepts of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva are precepts that are not precepts themselves, are not related to conditioned phenomena, are certain, are ultimate, and transform for the benefit of sentient beings. This is what is called the completely pure precepts of a Bodhisattva. Noble son, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with regard to completely pure precepts, even if one does not intentionally generate a mind without regret, a mind without regret will arise naturally. Noble son, for example, if a person holds a mirror, in order to see his face clearly
