Having gone to the home of a poor person, that poor person was extremely happy and said to both of them: From now on, you two should always stay in my house! Auspicious Woman said: We two have been driven away by others before, why do you now say that we two should stay? The poor person said: Please consider me, I will also make offerings to this for you, therefore I request that you both stay! Kāśyapa Bodhisattva Mahāsattva is also the same, not wishing to be born in the heavens. Because having been born, there will be aging, sickness, and death, therefore both are abandoned, not wishing (to be born in the heavens). Ignorant ordinary people do not know the many faults of aging, sickness, and death, and therefore are attached to the two faults of birth and death. Son of good family, again, for example, a young son of a Brahmin, being very hungry and threatened by hunger, goes to take a mango from the midst of foul-smelling vomit. Those who are wise and knowledgeable see it and rebuke him, saying: You are a very pure person of the Brahmin caste, why do you go to take a mango from the midst of foul-smelling vomit? That Brahmin boy felt ashamed and said to them: I am not really going to eat it, but I intend to wash it and throw it away. The wise man said: You are very foolish, if you intend to throw it away, why bother to take it? Son of good family, Bodhisattva Mahāsattva is also the same, regarding the aspect of birth, neither taking nor abandoning, just as the wise man rebuked that boy. Ignorant ordinary people want birth, but do not want death, just like that boy who took the fruit and then threw it away. Kāśyapa, again, for example, at a crossroads on a road, a person is selling food with delicious taste, fragrance, and color in a beautiful container. A hungry, weak, and tired person who has come from a long road, seeing that food with delicious taste, fragrance, and color, approaches him and asks, what is this? The owner of the food says: This is the best food, with delicious taste, fragrance, and color, whoever eats it will have their appearance and strength increased, and will eliminate hunger.

It can also eliminate hunger and thirst, and one can also see the gods. But there is one drawback, which is that one will die. When that person heard this, he thought, "I need both beauty and strength, but I don't want to see the gods or die." Thinking this, he said, "If eating this food will lead to death, then what's the point of selling it?" The owner of the food said, "No wise person will buy it. Only foolish and ignorant people will give me a lot of money to buy and eat it." Noble son, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is also like that. He does not want to be born as a god, nor does he want beauty, strength, or to see the gods. Why is that? Because he cannot escape from many sufferings. A foolish person does not see the faults of aging, sickness, and death, so he is attached to all places of birth. Noble son, it is also like a poisonous tree, the roots can cause death, the trunk can cause death, the bark, leaves, flowers, and fruits can also cause death. Noble son, taking the five aggregates in the place of birth in the twenty-five existences is also the same, everything leads to death. Kashyapa, it is also like vomit, whether it is much or little, it is disgusting. Noble son, birth is also the same, even if one can live to eighty thousand years, or only ten years, everything is the same in suffering. Noble son, it is also like this, for example, on a very dangerous cliff, in a place covered with grass, there is a lot of nectar. If one eats it, one can live for a thousand years of the gods, and diseases can be completely eliminated, and one will become happy. A foolish person, because he is attached to the taste, does not know that there is a very dangerous cliff under his feet. When he tries to take it, his foot slips, and he falls into the cliff and dies. A wise person, because he knows, will not go there. Noble son, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is also like that. He does not even want the good food of the gods, let alone the food of humans? A foolish person can even endure eating iron balls in hell, let alone the good food of gods and humans? Kashyapa, these metaphors, and countless other metaphors.
