Gone. The perfection of wisdom is mine. I am the four mindfulnesses. The four mindfulnesses are mine. Similarly, the four right abandonments, the four legs of miraculous power, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, and the eight branches of the noble path should also be fully understood. Son of good family, the Tathagata does not grasp in this way, therefore the Tathagata does not turn the wheel of Dharma. Son of good family, if the Tathagata is permanent, abiding, unchanging, and unmoving, why do you say that the Tathagata turns the wheel of Dharma? Therefore, you should not say that the Tathagata turns the wheel of Dharma. Son of good family, for example, from the combination of eye, form, and thought, eye consciousness arises. Son of good family, even the eye does not think, 'I generate eye consciousness,' and even up to thought, it does not think, 'I generate eye consciousness.' Eye consciousness itself does not think, 'I generate myself.' Son of good family, nevertheless, when these are combined and assembled, seeing occurs. Son of good family, the Tathagata is also similar to this. The six perfections, the thirty-seven dharmas of the wings of enlightenment, the discrimination of dharmas, and also the throat, palate, tongue, teeth, lips, and the sound of words spoken from the mouth, teaching the Dharma to the venerable Kaundinya at the beginning is called turning the wheel of Dharma. Therefore, the Tathagata should not be said to turn the wheel of Dharma. Son of good family, that which is not turned is called Dharma, and Dharma is the Tathagata. Son of good family, for example, from the combination of a rubbing stick, a rubbing board, a hand, and effort, fire arises. The rubbing stick does not think, 'I produce fire.' The rubbing board, the hand, and effort also do not think, 'I produce fire.' Fire also does not think, 'I produce myself.' The Tathagata is also similar to this. From the six perfections up to the venerable Kaundinya, it is called turning the wheel of Dharma. That

The Thus-Gone One does not think, "I have turned the wheel of Dharma." Son of good family, not thinking in that way is called truly turning the wheel of Dharma, and turning the wheel of Dharma in that way is called the Thus-Gone One. Son of good family, for example, butter arises from yogurt, water, a clay pot, a churning stick, a rope, and a hand. The yogurt does not think, "I have extracted butter," and up to the hand, it does not think, "I have extracted butter in this way." The butter also does not think, "I have extracted butter," but butter comes into being from the convergence of many causes. The Thus-Gone One is also similar to that; he does not think, "I have turned the wheel of Dharma." Not thinking in that way is called truly turning the wheel of Dharma, and turning the wheel of Dharma is called the Thus-Gone One. Son of good family, for example, a sprout arises from a seed, soil, water, fire, wind, plowing, season, and labor. Son of good family, the seed does not think, "I have produced a sprout," and up to the labor, it also does not think, "I have produced a sprout." The sprout also does not think, "I have produced a sprout." The Thus-Gone One is also similar to that; he does not think, "I have turned the wheel of Dharma." Son of good family, not thinking in that way is called truly turning the wheel of Dharma, and turning the wheel of Dharma is the Thus-Gone One. Son of good family, for example, a drum, from the drum wood, leather, a person's hand, and striking, sound arises. The drum also does not think, "I have produced a sound," and up to the striking and the sound, it also does not think, "I have produced a sound." The Thus-Gone One is also similar to that; he does not think, "I have turned the wheel of Dharma." Son of good family, not thinking in that way is called truly turning the wheel of Dharma. Son of good family, turning the wheel of Dharma is the unconditioned. The unconditioned is turning the wheel of Dharma. Turning the wheel of Dharma is the Thus-Gone One. Son of good family, the wheel of Dharma
