are pure. Furthermore, I will explain to you that form is impermanent: form is impermanent, that is, it has not arisen from the beginning. Because it arises and then ceases, in the state of being a viscous fluid in the womb, it has not arisen from the beginning, because it arises and then changes. The external sprout and trunk also have not arisen from the beginning, because they arise and then change. Therefore, know that all dharmas of form are impermanent. Son of good family, the internal form changes according to time: in the state of being a viscous fluid it is one state, in the state of being a gel it is another state, in the state of being hard it is another state, in the womb it is another state, at birth it is another state, when crawling it is another state, when young it is another state, and it changes until old age, because it changes separately, so it is different. All external forms are also the same: in the state of being a sprout it is one state, in the state of being a trunk it is another state, in the state of being a branch it is another state, in the state of being a leaf it is another state, in the state of being a flower it is another state, and in the state of being a fruit it is also another state. Son of good family, furthermore, the internal taste, from the state of being a viscous fluid to old age, is also different, so it is different. The external taste is also the same: from sprout, trunk, branch, leaf, flower to fruit, they are all different, so they are different. The power and strength in the state of being a viscous fluid is one state, from then until old age, the power and strength are also different, so they are different. The appearance in the state of being a viscous fluid is one state, from then until old age, the appearance is also different, so they are different. The ripening result in the state of being a viscous fluid is one state, from then until old age, the ripening result is also different, so they are different. The name given in the state of being a viscous fluid is one state, from then until old age, the naming is also different, so they are different. Just like this, the internal form is also impermanent because it gathers again immediately after it disintegrates. The external plants are also impermanent because they gather again immediately after they disintegrate. It is also impermanent because it grows gradually. From the state of being a viscous fluid to old age, it also grows and changes gradually, and from sprout to fruit, it also grows and changes gradually, so it is impermanent. All forms will cease, so they are impermanent, the cessation of the state of being a viscous fluid is one state, from then until old age, the cessation is also different. The cessation of the sprout is one state, from then until the cessation of the fruit is also

Because it is other, therefore it is impermanent. Those ignorant and base people, seeing the recollection of past lives, cling to it as permanent. Because of that reason, it is called impermanent. If it is impermanent, then it is suffering. Because it is suffering, it is impure. Noble son, these reasons were previously asked by Kashyapa, and I have explained them extensively. Furthermore, noble son, in all conditioned phenomena, there is nothing called "self." Noble son, all phenomena, in short, are form and non-form. In form, there is nothing called "self." Why is that? Because it can be destroyed, it can be cut, it can be defiled, and it arises and grows. What is called "self" cannot be destroyed, cannot be cut, and does not arise and grow. Therefore, form is not self. Non-form phenomena are also not self. Why is that? Because they arise from causes and conditions. Noble son, if non-Buddhists know that there is a self because of single-pointed recollection, then single-pointed recollection itself is not called "self." If it is said that single-pointed recollection is self, then there is also forgetting of past things. Because there is forgetting, there is definitely no "self." Noble son, if non-Buddhists say that there is a self because of recollection, then because there is no recollection, there is no "self." Noble son, for example, if someone sees a person with six fingers on their hand, they will ask them, "Have we met before in such and such a place?" If there were such a thing as a self, one should not ask, because asking this way definitely means there is no self. Noble son, if non-Buddhists say that there is a self because it can be divided and obscured, then noble son, because there is obscuration, it is definitely known that there is no self. For example, when saying "Devadatta," one does not say "not Devadatta." Self is also like that. If it is definitely self, then look, what is called self will not be obscured. Because it is obscured, there is definitely no self. If you know there is a self because it can be obscured, then if you are not obscured, there is definitely no self. Noble son, if non-Buddhists and friends and friends
