Moreover, there is suffering, displeasure, sadness, wailing, and even obstacles to life. From wine and delicious food to the storehouse, great suffering will also arise. Therefore, everything is suffering and has no nature of happiness. Son of the family, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva knows that the eight sufferings are suffering and there is no happiness. Son of the family, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, etc., do not know the cause of happiness, so they say that there is the nature of happiness in the last suffering. The Bodhisattva Mahayana, who completely abides in the Nirvana Sutra, can understand and know the cause of suffering and the cause of happiness. Son of the family, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide in the Mahayana Complete Nirvana Sutra and understand the truth of the origin? Son of the family, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva understands that the truth of the origin is the cause and condition of the aggregates. The so-called origin is the desire for rebirth, and there are two kinds of desires: the desire for one's own body and the desire for needs. Again, there are two kinds: seeking the five desires that have not been obtained with one mind; and after obtaining them, being able to endure extreme attachment. There are also three kinds: desire for desire, desire for form, and desire for formlessness. There are also three kinds: desire for the cause and condition of karma, desire for the cause and condition of afflictions, and desire for the cause and condition of suffering. There are four kinds of desires for renunciants: Dharma robes, alms, bedding, and medicine for the cause of illness. There are also five kinds: after being attached to the five aggregates, one desires everything that is needed. Discrimination is immeasurable and boundless. Son of the family, there are also two kinds of desires: desire for good and desire for evil. Only fools desire evil. Bodhisattvas desire good. There are also two kinds of desires for good Dharma: non-virtue and virtue. Seeking the two vehicles is

is virtuous. Seeking the Great Vehicle is virtuous. Son of good family, the desire of inferior children is called the origin, it is not the truth. The desire of a Bodhisattva is called the truth, it is not the origin. Why is that? It is because they take birth for the sake of liberating sentient beings, not for the sake of desire. Bodhisattva Light Protector again asked the Blessed One: World Honored One, in other sutras of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, it is said that for the sake of sentient beings, karma is the cause and condition. In between it is said that pride is the cause. In between it is said that the six contacts are the cause. In between it is said that ignorance turns into the five aggregates, being the cause and condition. Then why is it that in the four noble truths, only the nature of desire becomes the cause of the five aggregates? The Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Light Protector: Good, good! Son of good family, just as you said, it is not that other causes and conditions cannot become causes, but in short, the cause of the five aggregates arises from desire. Son of good family, for example, when a great king passes away, the great ministers follow him with their retinue. Desire is also like that, wherever desire acts, all the afflictions follow. For example, just as dust settles where clothes are oily, desire is also like that, wherever there is desire, the afflictions of karma also reside there. Son of good family, there is another example like this, for example, sprouts grow on moist ground. Desire is also like that, it causes all the sprouts of the afflictions of karma to grow. Son of good family, those Bodhisattvas, great beings, who abide in the complete extinction of the Great Vehicle, have nine kinds of very clear understanding of desire. For example, like an unpayable debt, like a Rakshasa woman as a wife, like a poisonous snake entwined around a beautiful flowering tree, like being forced to eat unpleasant and unwanted food, like a snake charmer woman, like the fruit of Baluka, like the rotten flesh of a wound, like wind
