Thus. Son of good family, I spoke those verses for the sake of that king. Furthermore, son of good family, those who fully protect morality and possess conduct, also spoke those verses for those who are engaged in finding fault with others. Whoever, following the instructions and discipline of others, completely abandons non-virtue, and also prevents others from doing non-virtuous deeds, that is my true attendant. Then, the Blessed One spoke to Manjushri in verse: There is nothing that fears weapons, all are attached to the life of survival, taking one's own body as an example, do not harm or kill others. Then, Manjushri, become a youth, again spoke in verse before the Blessed One: Not all fear weapons, All are attached to life, aren't they? Taking one's own body as an example, one should strive to practice virtue. The meaning of the words of the Dharma spoken by the Thus Gone One is not yet exhausted. What is the reason for that? Arhats and the precious women of the Wheel-Turning King, as well as yaks, horses, and precious ministers, even if gods or asuras hold sharp weapons, there is no possibility of being able to kill them. Brave men and women full of water, as well as the king of horses and the king of wild animals, and monks who uphold morality, even if enemies appear, they will not fear or be afraid, therefore what the Thus Gone One said in verse is also with remainder. Taking one's own body as an example. What is said is also with remainder. What is the reason for that? If Arhats take me as an example, there will be a thought of self and a thought of life. If there is a thought of self and a thought of life, they will protect, and even lowly children will see Arhats, and all will become yogis. If that is the case, then it is a bad view. If it is a bad view, then immediately after death they will be born in hell. Furthermore, for Arhats, if a mind of killing arises towards all sentient beings, then there is no opportunity to be born again.

Chi so. Even countless sentient beings cannot kill an Arhat. The Blessed One said, "Son of good family, the so-called self-grasping is the arising of great compassion for sentient beings, without the thought of killing. This is the equanimity of the Arhats." Do not think that the Blessed One has spoken contradictory words without cause and condition. In the past, in this royal palace, there was a hunter who killed many deer and invited me, saying, 'Please eat meat.' I agreed at that time, but with a mind of extreme love for all sentient beings, like Rahula, I uttered these verses: 'May you be very long-lived, and may you also live long in this world. Holding the Dharma of non-killing, may you be as long-lived as the Buddha.' Again, I spoke these verses: 'There is nothing more frightening than weapons. All cling to the life of survival. Taking my body as an example, do not strike or kill.' Then, the Blessed One again said to Manjushri, 'Very good, very good!' For the sake of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, it is good to ask the Tathagata about such profound meanings. Then, Manjushri asked in verse: 'How should one treat parents, serving them with reverence? How does one practice, so that one falls into the Avici Hell?' Then, the Blessed One said to Manjushri in verse: 'Attachment is the mother, ignorance is the father. If one serves them with reverence, one will fall into the Avici Hell.' Then, the Blessed One again said to the Bodhisattva Manjushri in verse: 'If all are controlled by others, that is suffering. If all are controlled by oneself, that is power and happiness. All arrogance and pride are fierce and cruel because of power. All goodness and gentleness are loving to all and full of compassion.' Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Manjushri, who had become a youth, again said to the Blessed One, 'Are these words spoken by the Tathagata not the ultimate of reduction?'
