Furthermore, those with wrong views ultimately perceive that when the Tathagata passes into nirvana, they truly cling to impermanence, seeing it as akin to a lamp and oil being exhausted together. Why is that? Because that person does not accumulate sinful, unwholesome actions. If a Bodhisattva dedicates the virtuous deeds they have done to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, those with wrong views will mock and disbelieve. However, Bodhisattvas will also dedicate them to attaining unsurpassed enlightenment. Why is that? Because the nature of the Buddhas is such. Milk turns into curds, and sin does not ripen immediately. Like embers covered with ashes, fools will trample on them with contempt. Those with wrong views are called eyeless, and therefore do not see the path of the Arhat. An Arhat does not go to the evil path of samsara, the abyss. The eyeless, by slandering the extremely prosperous, do not diligently cultivate loving-kindness like an Arhat. Those with wrong views not diligently cultivating the extremely prosperous is also the same. If someone says this: 'I do not believe in the Sutras of the Hearers, but I believe in the Mahayana, and I recite, read, teach, and explain it. Therefore, I am a Bodhisattva, because all sentient beings have Buddha-nature, so within the bodies of sentient beings there are also the ten powers, the thirty-two marks, and the eighty minor marks. My words and the words of the Buddha are no different. Together with you, I will destroy immeasurable afflictions, just like a broken vessel. Because all afflictions are destroyed, unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment will be seen.' Although that person teaches and explains in this way, they do not truly believe that sentient beings have Buddha-nature, but teach according to the words for the sake of benefit and happiness. Such a teacher is called a sinner, and that sinner, like milk turning into curds, will not quickly achieve results. For example, a king's messenger who is very eloquent and skilled goes to another country.
