Laha is extreme joy in the heart. The Bhagavan is free from all fabrications, it is truly wonderful! Ema, that the Tathagata has completely entered Nirvana, this is called Ha. Among them, 'Ksha' means demon. Because immeasurable demons cannot destroy the secret essence of the Tathagata, it is called 'Ksha'. Furthermore, 'Ksha' is following the world, showing parents, wife, and son, so it is called 'Ksha'. The four letters Ri, Rī, Li, Lī have four meanings. Namely, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and the antidote Dharma. Among them, the antidote Dharma is the worldly Dharma, like Devadatta causing division in the Sangha, and showing various forms and appearances in order to conceal the precepts, but wise and intelligent people can understand it, so they are not afraid of it. Because this is following the world, it is called Ri, Rī, Li, Lī. Through breathing, the root of the tongue, the length of the breath of the nose, and guidance, one can understand the meaning from the sound. Moreover, it also changes in various ways from the tongue and teeth. In this way, the meaning of these letters can completely purify the speech actions of sentient beings. The Buddha-nature of sentient beings depends on letters, but it is not initially completely pure. Why? Because the nature is originally pure, although it exists within the aggregates, elements, and sources, it is not like the aggregates, elements, and sources. Therefore, sentient beings should take refuge in Bodhisattvas. For the sake of Buddha-nature, all sentient beings are viewed equally. Therefore, half a letter is the root of the victory of Sutras, Shastras, speech, and words. The meaning of half a letter is the root of the speech of all afflictions, so it is called half a letter. The complete letter is the root of speaking all virtuous Dharmas. For example, in the world, someone who does sinful and unwholesome things is called half a person. Someone who practices all virtuous deeds is called a complete person. Thus, all Sutras, Shastras, and speech are the root of half a letter.

Finished. If someone says that the Thus-gone One and complete liberation are also included in the half-letter, that is not so. Why? Because of being separate from letters. Therefore, the Thus-gone One is unhindered and unattached to all dharmas, and is completely liberated. What is it to understand and know the meaning of letters? If someone knows that the Thus-gone One, having descended into the world, has eliminated the half-letter, that is called understanding and comprehending the meaning of letters. To follow the meaning of the half-letter is not to understand the nature of the Thus-gone One. What is the meaning of no letters? To associate with and practice non-virtuous dharmas is called no letters. Furthermore, no letters means that even if one associates with and practices virtuous dharmas, one does not know whether the Thus-gone One is permanent or impermanent, constant or inconstant. One does not know the Dharma and the Sangha, nor the Vinaya and non-Vinaya, nor the Sutras and non-Sutras, nor what is taught by the demons and what is taught by the Buddhas. Not distinguishing the differences is called entering into the meaning of no letters. Thus, I have also explained following the meaning of no letters. Son of good family, therefore, you should abandon the half-letter and become very skilled in the complete letter. Then, Bodhisattva Light Protector said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, we will become very skilled in the number of letters. Because we have met the unsurpassed teacher, we will do as the Thus-gone One has taught. The Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Light Protector: Good, good. Those who wish to associate with the sacred Dharma should learn in this way. Then, the Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Light Protector: Son of good family, just as among birds, the Kalandaka bird and the swan do not separate no matter where they go, but are always together. Similarly, suffering and, impermanence and, selflessness are also like that, inseparable. Bodhisattva Light Protector said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how are suffering, impermanence, and self
