Now, the immeasurable and boundless Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have fully praised it, and I shall also expound it more extensively than all the Sutras endowed with qualities. Eleventh Fascicle. Son of good family, the so-called "self" and "non-self" are by nature non-dual. You should uphold it in this way and bear it on your head. Son of good family, you should firmly uphold and remember this Sutra. In the past, in the great Sutra of the Supreme Perfection of Wisdom, I also taught the non-duality of the characteristics of "self" and "non-self." For example, from milk comes yogurt, from yogurt comes butter, from butter comes ghee, and from ghee comes the essence of butter. So, does the nature of yogurt come from milk? Or does it come from yogurt itself? Or does it come from somewhere else, even to the essence of butter? It should be understood in the same way, extensively. If it comes from somewhere else, then it is made by something else. If it is made by something else, then all sentient beings will not be born from milk. If it does not come from milk, then milk becomes useless. If it comes from yogurt itself, then similarity is also unreasonable. If the essence of butter arises, it will arise from continuity. If it arises from continuity, then it is not born simultaneously. If it is not born simultaneously, then the five tastes will arise at the same time. Even if it does not arise at the same time, it certainly does not come from somewhere else. Therefore, in milk, because the sweet taste is strong, even if the nature of yogurt exists from before, it cannot transform itself. Likewise, it should be understood extensively up to the essence of butter. When cows eat grass and drink water, they are transformed into blood by the cause and condition, and from blood into milk. If they eat sweet grass, the milk will also be sweet. If they eat bitter grass, the milk will also become bitter. There is a grass called oily grass on the snowy mountains. If cows eat it, it will turn into pure butter essence, and the colors blue, yellow, red, white, or black will not appear. Due to the cause and condition of eating other grass, the taste and color of the milk will also become different. Beings who are deceived by their respective children, with knowledge and without knowledge.
