If not done, it is called suffering. It is not the noble truth of suffering. The noble truth of the origin of suffering is that correct wisdom does not arise for the correct Dharma, and holding and using unexamined things such as male and female servants, speaking of non-Dharma as the correct Dharma, causing the holy Dharma to disappear, and not abiding for a long time. Because of that cause, that condition, the nature of all Dharmas is not understood. Because of not understanding, one revolves in samsara, experiencing much suffering, and is not born in the heavens, nor liberated by correct liberation. For this, having profound wisdom, the holy Dharma is imperishable, which is that cause, that condition, one is born in the heavens, and liberated by correct liberation. If one does not know the noble truth of the origin of suffering, and says that the holy Dharma is impermanent, non-abiding, and of the nature of change, then because of that cause, that condition, one will revolve in samsara for countless kalpas, experiencing much suffering. For this, if one knows that the holy Dharma is permanent, abiding, unchanging, and unmoving, then that is knowing the origin, and it is called the noble truth of the origin. If one does not strive in such a way, it is called origin, and it is not the noble truth of the origin. The noble truth of the cessation of suffering is that one should not call it good to meditate and strive much on emptiness. Why is that? Because in order to eliminate all Dharmas, in order to destroy the Tathagata's correct Dharma treasury. If one learns and strives in that way, that is meditating on emptiness. Meditating on the cessation of suffering is turning away from all heretics. If meditating on emptiness is the truth of cessation, then all heretics would also have the truth of cessation by meditating on the Dharma of emptiness. For this, if someone says this: the Tathagatagarbha exists, although it is not seen, but if all afflictions are eliminated, it will be realized, or if one generates a moment of bodhicitta, then because of that cause, that condition, one will obtain mastery over all Dharmas. If someone considers the Tathagatagarbha as self,

If one meditates in a scattered and non-peaceful manner, that person will completely wander in samsara for countless lifetimes and experience suffering. If one does not meditate in that way, even with afflictions, one will quickly be purified. Why is that? It is because one knows the secret of the Tathagatagarbha, which is called the Truth of the Cessation of Suffering. If one diligently practices in that way, one is my close attendant. If one does not diligently practice in that way, it is meaningless meditation, not the Truth of the Path to Cessation. The Truth of the Path is as follows: Some sentient beings, with a reversed mind, say regarding the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and complete liberation, that there is no Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and complete liberation, and that they wander in samsara like illusions. If one views in that way, due to its cause and condition, one will wander in the three realms and experience great suffering for a long time. If one generates the mind in this way: that the Tathagata, Dharma, Sangha, and liberation are constant, abiding, unchanging, and non-transferring, then just by thinking in that way for a moment, one will gain the power to transform merit at will for countless lifetimes. Why is that? It is because I also previously, with the four inversions, grasped what was not Dharma as Dharma, and thus experienced immeasurable ripening of non-virtuous actions. Now that such a view has ceased, I have awakened to perfect and complete enlightenment, this is called the Truth of the Path. If someone says that the Three Jewels are impermanent and meditates on that view, that is meaningless meditation, not the Truth of the Path. If one meditates on the Dharma in a constant and abiding manner, one is called my close attendant, one correctly sees the Four Noble Truths and diligently practices meditating on the Four Noble Truths. Bodhisattva Dhrityupasaka (Holder of Light) asked the Bhagavan: I desire to obtain a Dharma by which I can diligently practice the Four Noble Truths. The Bhagavan said to Dhrityupasaka:
