We said thus: We abandon the Vinaya and will follow your Vinaya. Your Vinaya is taught by the demon, while our Sutra and Vinaya are established by the Buddha. The nine scriptures previously spoken by the Tathagata are also certainly spoken in our nine Sutras and Vinayas, but the extremely extensive Sutra, not even a word or a letter has been heard. The Sutra and Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata are without measure, so the saying of extremely extensive Sutra will not appear, and it has not been heard that there are ten Sutras in those scriptures. If it is true, it must be known that it was done by Devadatta. The evil Devadatta made the extremely extensive Sutra in order to destroy the good Dharma, and we do not believe that it is the Sutra taught by the demon. What is the reason for that? Because the words of destroying the Dharma and blaming each other come from your Sutra, but not in our Sutra. Our Sutra and Vinaya are spoken by the Tathagata, and it is secretly recorded in this way: After I have completely passed into Nirvana, in the time of the evil age, there will appear untrue Sutras and Vinayas, called the Great Vehicle extremely extensive Sutra. Those who say such things, in the future, there will be such evil monks. I have also said this: Apart from the nine scriptures, it is also said that there is an extremely extensive Sutra. Among them, whoever knows that meaning, that is the extremely correct understanding of the Sutra and Vinaya, that is abandoning all unexamined things, as bright and pure as the full moon, I said so. Among them, whoever says this: The Tathagata also speaks of meanings as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River from each Sutra, but it has not been said in this way, so this is not true. If it is true, why is it not said in our Vinaya? Because it has not been said in this way, it has not appeared, so we do not believe it. If he says that, know that that person has obtained an extremely serious fault. That person also says this: Sutra and Vinaya

I should take that rough monastic robe. What is the reason for that? Because it knows contentment and has few desires, cuts off all defilements, and becomes the cause of virtuous Dharma of wisdom and liberation from sorrow. Even if someone speaks like that, he is not my attendant. If someone says this: The Tathagata has spoken the extremely extensive Sutra Pitaka in order to save many beings. If someone speaks like that, it should be known that he is my true attendant. If someone does not like the extremely extensive Sutra Pitaka, then he is not my attendant either. He is not one who has renounced by the Buddha's Dharma, and it should be known that he is a retinue of heretics with evil views. If it is said like this from the Sutra Pitaka and the Vinaya Pitaka, then that is what the Buddha taught. If it is not like that, then that is what the Mara taught. If someone follows what the Mara taught, he is called a retinue of the Mara. If someone follows what the Buddha taught, he is called a Bodhisattva. Son of lineage, also says this: The Tathagata is not Accomplished from immeasurable qualities, but is impermanent, changing, and transforming. Because he has attained the Dharma of emptiness, it is said that there is no self, which is not in accordance with the world. Sutras and Vinaya that appear like this are called teachings of Mara. If someone says this: The Tathagata, the perfectly complete Buddha, is inconceivable, accomplished from immeasurable and countless qualities. Therefore, he is permanent, abiding, unchanging, and un-transforming. If it appears from the Sutra Pitaka and the Vinaya Pitaka, then that is what the Buddha taught. If someone follows what the Mara taught, he is called belonging to the ranks of the Mara. Following what the Buddha taught is called a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, some say this: O monks, before a fundamental transgression of defeat has occurred, everyone thinks that a fundamental transgression of defeat has occurred, just like cutting off the head of a palm tree. Even if someone speaks like that, that monk has not committed a fundamental transgression of defeat. What is the reason for that? Because I have said that if only one of the four fundamental transgressions of defeat is lost, it is like a stone being broken, it cannot be restored. If someone obtains the Dharma of a superior man
