If you will not become my teacher in any way, then you, Brahmin, will also be placed together with the low-caste Chandalas, and you will be made to work like a slave. If you empower me from the crown of my head, then I will also give you half of the country. This word is not false, and I will also take an oath. I will also divide and give you a share of the nectar of immortality from the thirty-three heavens.” So he said. At that time, a very young son of a Brahmin, very pure in conduct, possessing the mark of a topknot, and very skilled in mantras and rituals, went to King Kalava and said to the king, “I will carry out the command issued by the great king.” Then, the king was very pleased and made that young Brahmin the teacher to be empowered from the crown of his head. When the other Brahmins heard this, they all scolded the young man, rebuking him, “If you are a Brahmin, why do you become the teacher of that low-caste Chandala?” At that time, the king gave half of the country to that young man, and they ruled the country together. Later, after a long time, that young man said to the king, “I have abandoned my home and become the king's teacher, and I have shown and taught the king mantras and arts, but the king does not feel close to me.” The king said, “How do I not feel close to you?” The young man reported, “The former king's medicine of immortality has not yet been found.” The king said, “Good, good! Great teacher, I have not done so, if the teacher needs it, take it all!” Then, that young man took the medicine given by the king and came home, and drank it together with the great ministers. After the ministers drank it, they became very comfortable and reported to the king, “The teacher has the medicine of immortality, like nectar.” When the king heard those words, he said to the teacher, “Great teacher, will you not also give me a share of the nectar that the great ministers enjoy?” Then, that young man mixed poison and gave it to the king. As soon as the king ate it, the poison took effect, and he could not feel anything, and he fell to the ground as if dead. Then, that young Brahmin became the regent of the king.
