Out of compassion for the world, diligently protect and make offerings to the sutras, and also encourage others to make offerings, serve, respect, prostrate, read, and recite. Likewise, one can fully comprehend the profound meaning, which is that the Tathagata is of the nature of permanence, unchanging, and ultimately blissful, and extensively expounds that all sentient beings possess the Tathagatagarbha. Being extremely skilled in the treasury of the Tathagata's Dharma, making offerings to these Buddhas will lead to understanding, holding, protecting, and distinguishing the unsurpassed true Dharma. Whoever generates the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, in the future, that person will surely be able to hold, protect this true Dharma, and will certainly understand how to distinguish the true Dharma. Therefore, you should know that in the evil times of the future, there will be those who will protect the sacred Dharma. Why is that? Because those who generate the mind of enlightenment will undoubtedly be able to protect and hold the unsurpassed true Dharma in the future. Son of good family, evil-precepted monks, upon hearing that I have entered Nirvana, will not grieve but will be pleased, thinking that now that the Tathagata has entered Nirvana, they are satisfied. If the Tathagata were to remain in the world, he would become an obstacle to our gains, but now that he has entered Nirvana, there will be no one to obstruct or steal our gains. Without obstruction or theft, we will gain even more. If the Tathagata were to remain in the world, the precepts would be very strict, but now that he has entered Nirvana, everything will become lax, and the Dharma robes on our bodies will merely be for show. Now, even if they are torn and tattered, they will be like banners on trees. Those who speak in this way are slandering and disparaging this sutra. Son of good family, keep this in mind. Any sentient being who possesses immeasurable and perfect qualities will have faith and believe in this Mahayana sutra. Having faith, they will uphold and memorize it, and encourage other sentient beings who are fond of hearing it.

If it is widely shown and explained, that person, by merely hearing it, will have all the non-virtuous deeds of countless past kalpas eliminated and purified. If someone does not believe in this sutra, if they do not have faith, then in this very life they will be tormented by countless kinds of diseases, suffer, be scolded and rebuked by many people, and after death they will be despised and cursed by everyone, have an ugly appearance, be lacking in the necessities of life, and even if they obtain a little something, it will be bad and rough. Wherever they are born, they will always be poor and miserable, born into a low caste, born into a lineage that slanders the Dharma, and finally, at the time of death, they will encounter disturbances in the country, or encounter weapons, or the king will not act according to the Dharma, or encounter enemies, or even if they have virtuous friends, they will not be able to meet them, they will not obtain any necessities of life, and even if they obtain a little something, they will always be tormented by hunger and thirst, befriend and rely on base and evil people, and not be liked by the king and ministers. If preaching and explaining do not contradict the meaning, no one will believe and accept it. That person will not be born in a good and virtuous place, just as a bird with broken wings cannot fly, that person is the same, and in the future they will not be born in the good realms of gods and humans. Therefore, if someone believes and has faith in this Mahayana sutra, even if the body they obtain is ugly and unpleasant, they can, through the merit of this sutra, have a beautiful appearance, possess majesty and splendor, and their complexion will improve and grow, becoming pleasing and desirable to all gods and humans in the world, receiving service, respect, and offerings, and being unwilling to part with it. Kings, ministers, relatives, and retinues will trust and believe in his words and teachings. If any of my Shravaka disciples wish to practice the supreme and excellent meaning, they should widely explain and teach this Mahayana sutra to all beings in the world. Son of good family, just as a dewdrop wants to last for a long time, it cannot escape the rising of the sun, and as soon as the sun rises, it will disappear.
