Son of good family, there are two types of sickness in the world: curable and incurable. The curable ones are those that can be healed by a doctor. The incurable ones are those that cannot be healed even by a doctor. The Venerable Light-increaser further inquired: "Lord, as you said, the Tathagata also healed sentient beings in Jambudvipa. If healed, why are there still so many sentient beings who have not been liberated from sorrow? If not all can attain it, why did the Tathagata heal all sentient beings and then depart to another direction?" The Lord replied: "Son of good family, there are two types of sentient beings in Jambudvipa: those with faith and those without faith. Those with faith are curable. Why is that? Because they will surely be liberated from sorrow and are without fault, so I said that I healed all sentient beings in Jambudvipa. Those without faith are called heretics, and heretics are incurable. Except for heretics, all sentient beings are healed, so there is no fault in liberation from sorrow." He inquired: "Lord, what is meant by liberation from sorrow?" Son of good family, liberation from sorrow means complete liberation. The Venerable Light-increaser further inquired: "Is complete liberation with form or without form?" The Lord replied: "Son of good family, some are with form, and some are without form. Those without form are the complete liberation of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. What is called with form is the complete liberation of the Buddha, the Lord. Son of good family, therefore, complete liberation is both with form and without form. For the close disciples of the Hearers, the Tathagata is without form." Thus he spoke. He inquired: "Lord, if Hearers and Solitary Buddhas have no form, where do they dwell?" Son of good family, it is like the gods of the Realm of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception, who are both with form and without form, so I said without form. If someone were to argue, saying, 'If the gods of the Realm of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception have no form, where do they dwell, and how do they go, come, and go forth?' The reason for this is as follows.

These are the realm of the Buddha Bhagavan, not known by the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Liberation is also the same as this, it is form, and it is not form, therefore it is said not to be form. Feeling is also, not feeling is also, therefore it is said not to be feeling. These meanings are the realm of the Buddhas, not known by the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Seventh Chapter. Then, Bodhisattva Light Protector again said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, for the sake of compassion for us, please explain in detail the meaning of the Great Nirvana Liberation. The Bhagavan said to Light Protector: Very good, very good! Son of good family, what is called true liberation is complete separation from all bonds of bondage. Thus, true liberation is complete separation from all bonds, therefore there is no birth, and no gathering. For example, a son is born from the gathering and meeting of parents. True liberation is not like that, therefore liberation is called unborn. Light Protector, for example, the essence of ghee is naturally pure. The Tathagata is also the same as this, not born from the causes and conditions of the gathering and meeting of parents, but naturally pure, but manifests parents in order to tame various beings. What is called true liberation is the Tathagata, and the liberation of the Tathagata is non-dual and inseparable. For example, if seeds are sown in the summer, they immediately grow and appear due to the warmth and moisture. True liberation is not like that. Furthermore, what is called liberation is emptiness and non-existence. Emptiness and non-existence is liberation. Liberation is the Tathagata. The Tathagata is emptiness and non-existence, not made, nor the maker. What is called made is a city, a village, a house, danger, and obstacles. True liberation is not like that, therefore liberation is the Tathagata.

Oh! Furthermore, what is called "liberation" is the unconditioned Dharma. Conditioned things are like pottery, which is subject to destruction. Liberation is not like that; true liberation is unborn and unceasing. Therefore, liberation is the Tathagata, and the Tathagata is also like that, unborn and unceasing, not aging, not dying, not decaying, not breaking, not being a conditioned Dharma. Therefore, the Tathagata is completely liberated from suffering and is called not aging and not dying. What is that? What is called "aging" is changing and transforming, hair turning white, wrinkles appearing on the face. What is called "death" is the body decaying and life ending. These things are not present in liberation; because they are not present, it is called liberation. The Tathagata does not have conditioned Dharmas such as hair turning white and wrinkles appearing on the face. Therefore, the Tathagata does not have aging. Because there is no aging, there is also no death. Furthermore, liberation is without sickness. What is called "sickness" is the four hundred and four diseases, and other non-disease causes that harm the body. Because none of these are present, it is called liberation. That which is without sickness is called true liberation. True liberation is the Tathagata. Because the Tathagata has no sickness, the Dharmakaya also has no sickness. Being without sickness in this way is why it is called the Tathagata. What is called "death" is the body decaying and life ending. Because there is no death, it is like nectar. Nectar is completely pure liberation. Complete liberation is the Tathagata. Like this, the Tathagata possesses such perfect qualities, why is the Tathagata said to be impermanent? If it is said that the Tathagata is impermanent, that is not reasonable. If it is a vajra-like body, why is it impermanent? Therefore, it cannot be said that the Tathagata's life is exhausted. The Tathagata is completely pure and without defilement. The Tathagata's body is not defiled by the womb, like a lotus flower, naturally pure. The Tathagata's liberation is also like that.
