Like a treasure trove, may the true and profoundly deep Dharma, inexhaustible like nectar, abide in the world forever. May we also always diligently practice these teachings. If anyone dares to tamper with or slander the sacred Dharma spoken by the Buddha himself, we vow to cut off their tongue. Furthermore, for those who have renounced the household life and become monks, if they violate the precepts, we will return them to lay life and put them to work. If anyone diligently practices the sacred Dharma, we will honor and serve them like our parents. If there is anyone in the Sangha who diligently practices the sacred Dharma, we will rejoice and give them strength. We vow to always be eager to hear the Mahayana sutras, and after hearing them, to widely proclaim them to others. Such virtuous people, like the sons of the Licchavis, the pure and stainless essence; the sons of the Licchavis, mindful and pure; the sons of the Licchavis, constantly stainless and pure virtues, and so on. They said to each other, 'Friends, quickly go to where the Tathagata is and offer abundant offerings of various kinds!' Then, each of the Licchavis prepared eighty-four thousand woolly yaks, eighty-four thousand jeweled chariots with four horses, eighty-four thousand wish-fulfilling jewels, and eighty-four thousand piles of sandalwood and agarwood. In front of each woolly yak were arranged jeweled banners, flags, and umbrellas. The smallest of the umbrellas covered a circumference of one yojana. The shortest of the flags was thirty-two yojanas long. The smallest of the jeweled banners was one hundred yojanas high. Having prepared such abundant offerings, they went to where the Buddha was. Upon arriving, they bowed their heads to the Buddha's feet and circumambulated him hundreds of thousands of times, and then said to the Blessed One, 'Blessed One, we wish to offer these offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks.'

If these offerings are presented, then they requested the Tathagata to accept these offerings for the sake of compassion towards us. To this, the Tathagata did not speak and did not allow acceptance. The sons of the Licchavis did not have their wishes fulfilled and were overwhelmed by deep sorrow. Due to the blessing of the Bhagavan, they rose from the ground to the height of seven Tala trees and stood silently in the sky above. At that time, there were also ministers, householders, and merchants as numerous as the sands of five Ganges rivers, who had great faith in the Mahayana. If there were any who had entered other schools and slandered the true Dharma, then those who were subdued by their power were just like hail falling on grass and trees. For example, led by merchants Sunlight, merchants World Protector, merchants Dharma Protector, and so on, they each prepared offerings about five times greater than before. They went between two Sala trees, bowed their heads to the feet of the Bhagavan, circumambulated hundreds of thousands of times, and then requested the Bhagavan in this way: "Bhagavan, we offer these offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha, please accept them." To this, the Tathagata did not speak and did not allow acceptance. Those merchants did not have their wishes fulfilled and their hearts were filled with sorrow. Due to the blessing of the Bhagavan, they rose from the ground to the height of seven Tala trees and stood silently in the sky above. At that time, there were also kings of vast lands, including queens and consorts, and all the minor kings in Jambudvipa except for King Ajatasatru, and all the people of all cities, regions, and suburbs, such as, led by King Moonlight Immaculate and others, each with four kinds of armies, came to where the Buddha was. Each of those kings was accompanied by eighty thousand attendants. The army included elephant soldiers and cavalry, those elephant soldiers had six tusks, and the horses were as fast as the wind.

Likewise, the arrangement of offerings was six times greater than before. Even the smallest of the jeweled umbrellas covered eight yojanas in circumference. Even the shortest of the banners was sixteen yojanas in length. Even the smallest of the jeweled victory banners was thirty-six yojanas in height. All those kings abided in the true Dharma, therefore they greatly condemned all false dharmas, revered the Mahayana, greatly admired the Mahayana, and loved all sentient beings like an only child. The fragrance of the food offerings spread for four yojanas, and in the morning, holding various kinds of offerings, they went to the place between the two sala trees where the Thus-Gone One resided, and upon arriving, they said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, if we offer these offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, please accept this last offering of ours for the sake of compassion." The Thus-Gone One, knowing the time, did not grant it. Those kings, also, because they did not get what they wished for, were filled with sorrow and sat down together on one side. At that time, the queens of the kings, as numerous as the sands of seven Ganges rivers, also gathered together, except for one who was not Queen Ajatashatru. For the sake of taming sentient beings, she manifested in a woman's body, always diligently practicing with her body, and her mind was familiar and accustomed to the Dharma of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, and so on. Queen Three Realms Virtuous Woman and Queen Desirable Qualities, and so on, were led first. All of them abided in the sacred Dharma, completely guarded their vows, possessed good conduct, and loved all sentient beings like an only child. They also said to each other, "We should also quickly go to where the Buddha resides." The offerings arranged by the queens of the kings were seven times greater than before, including flowers, incense, jeweled victory banners, silk banners, and umbrellas.
