Thinking they had found precious vaidurya, they happily came out, only to realize it was not genuine. At that time, the jewel was in the water, and because of the jewel's power, the water was completely clear, so everyone knew the precious jewel was at the bottom of the water, like the moon in the sky above. At that time, among those attendants, there was a wise person skilled in means, who slowly entered the water and took the jewel. Monks, your diligence in the perceptions of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and impurity is like many people each taking out rubble, stones, grass, wood, and gravel, thinking they have found a precious jewel. You should also be very skilled in means, and wherever you dwell, be skilled in the perceptions of self, permanence, bliss, and purity. Your previous diligence only on the superficial aspects of the four dharmas (impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness) has turned everything upside down. You should also diligently meditate on the perceptions as they truly are. Just as that wise person skilled in means took out the precious jewel, you should diligently focus on the perceptions of self, permanence, bliss, and purity. Then, the monks again said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, as you said before, regarding all dharmas, pervade them with selflessness, and you should be diligent in that way. If you are diligent in that way, you will abandon the perception of self. If you abandon the perception of self, you will be free from pride. If you are free from pride, you will be liberated from suffering. What does that mean? Then, the Blessed One said: Good, very good! You have asked this question well in order to dispel our doubts. For example, if a king is not wise and has little knowledge, and his doctor is also not wise and is foolish, the king, not understanding, greatly rewards that doctor. That foolish doctor treats all diseases with milk, not knowing what caused the disease in the first place, nor being skilled in using milk as medicine, so he uses milk for all diseases of wind, phlegm, and bile.

Milk is given as medicine. The king does not understand the doctor, nor can he distinguish between the good and bad of milk. At that time, a famous doctor who is proficient in eight kinds of wisdom, is very good at treating all diseases, and is proficient in all treatments, comes from another place. At that time, that doctor who is not proficient in medicine will not ask or learn from that doctor who is proficient in medicine, but instead generates a mind of arrogance. At that time, that doctor who is proficient in medicine relies on that doctor who is not proficient in medicine as a teacher, and in order to learn the secret medical treatments, he prays to that foolish doctor, saying: I pray to you as my teacher, please show and explain these treatments. When he prays, that foolish doctor swears to that doctor who is proficient in medicine, saying: If you serve me for forty-eight years, I will show all the treatments. Then, that doctor who is proficient in medicine says according to the words of that doctor who is not proficient in medicine: I will do so. I will serve you to the best of my ability. After saying that, that foolish doctor takes that new doctor and goes to the king's palace. After meeting the king, at that time, that new doctor tells the king about various treatments, as well as many other arts, and how to govern the country, and the methods of treating patients. Great king, please understand these. After saying that, when the king hears what he said, he realizes that the old doctor is not proficient in medicine, and he expels him from that country. Then, he gives more respect and hospitality to that new doctor. At that time, that new doctor thinks to himself, now is the time to show this king, so he says to the king: Great king, if you don't mind, please allow me to make a request. The king says: From my right hand to all the parts of my body, ask for whatever you want, and I will give it all away. That doctor prays, saying: Although you may allow me to ask for all the parts of the king's body, I will not be greedy, nor will I ask for too much. From now on, please prohibit all the people of the country from giving milk as a treatment medicine of the old doctor. What is the reason for that?

The reason is that the medicine is poisonous and will cause many deaths. If that medicine must be used, it should be announced that limbs and heads will be cut off. After the prohibition of using medicinal milk, there will be no untimely deaths, and everything will be peaceful and happy. Please grant my request. Then the king said: Your request is indeed very beneficial. From now on, if any of the people are sick, they will not be allowed to use medicinal milk. If anyone uses milk, it should be announced that limbs and heads will be cut off. At that time, the skilled doctor mixed medicines of various tastes such as heat, cold, sour, sweet, and bitter to treat diseases, and there was nothing that could not be cured. Later, not long after, the king fell ill, So he summoned the doctor and said: I am very painful due to illness, how should I be treated? After the doctor diagnosed the king's illness, he felt that milk was needed to make medicine, so he said to the king: If the king's illness is combined with the method, milk should be used to make medicine. I said before that milk should not be used to make medicine, that was a lie. There is no better medicine than milk, and the king's illness is also caused by fever, so it is best to use milk to make medicine. The king said: Doctor, are you drunk? If you have a fever, is it good to use milk for this disease? You said that milk is poisonous, how can you drink it now? Are you teasing me? The previous doctor said that praise is poisonous, so he drove away a doctor, and now you say that it is good to use milk when you are sick, so my previous doctor must be more knowledgeable than you. Then the doctor said to the king again: King, don't say that. For example, the traces left by worms eating wood may also become writing. The worm does not know whether it is writing or not, but if it is seen by a wise person, it will not be surprised to think that the worm understands writing. Great King, the previous doctor was also like that, because he did not understand various diseases, so he used medicinal milk for everyone, just like the traces left by worms became writing. The previous doctor

I don't know the good or bad of milk, and I don't know if it's suitable. The king said: How could the previous doctor not know? The doctor said: The so-called medicinal milk is both poison and nectar. So, how can it be said that this milk is both poison and nectar? If the cow only eats grass on the meadow, donated grass, and does not eat chaff, and the calf is very docile, and the place where it lives is neither on a high mountain nor in a forest, but lives by clear flowing water, is not driven away, does not live with the herd, but eats and drinks freely, and its walking and living are also free, then such milk is beneficial to diseases, so it is called nectar. If it is not such milk, then all milk is poisonous. At that time, after hearing these words, the great king said to the doctor: Good! Very well said! Now I know the good and bad of milk and whether it is suitable. After that, milk was taken as medicine, and the disease was cured. The king ordered all the people: From now on, offer milk as medicine! When the people heard these words, they all scolded: Is this great king possessed by a hungry ghost? Is he crazy? Or what's wrong? He is deceiving us, saying that we should offer milk as medicine. All the people came to the king angrily. The king said to them: Don't scold me! Whether milk is suitable as medicine is the doctor's judgment, I am not wrong. At that time, the great king and all the people were very happy and satisfied, and they were more respectful and respectful to that doctor, and they let all the patients take medicinal milk, and the disease was cured. Bhikshu, you should also understand the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, Vidyā-caraṇa-saṃpanna, Sugata, Lokavid, Anuttara-puruṣa-damya-sārathi, Śāsta deva-manushyānām, Buddha, Bhagavan in this way, just like a great doctor came into the world, subdued all the doctors who held evil heretical views, and said to all the kings: I am a doctor!
